🌖 Happy New Moon 🌗

After teaching and practice this morning, I took a few quiet moments, just lying back, breathing, letting things settle.

And it reminded me that we don’t need to have it all figured out - something is already unfolding.

Each New Moon is a quiet beginning. A chance to slow down and turn inward.

It’s not always about having a grand plan, just noticing…

~ what feels ready to grow?
~ and what might be ready to be let go of?

Nothing complicated. Just an intention and a willingness to listen in, notice, trust the process.

🌜🌗🌖🌔🌕🌚🌙

If you feel called, you might take a moment today to:

• light a candle
• place a hand on your heart and breathe
• write down one intention
• let go of one thing that feels complete

The Spring Equinox is close—
that point where day and night come into balance, before the light starts to stretch out again.

But tonight, under the New Moon, maybe just grab a cosy blanket and simply let yourself rest.

Some mornings the mind is busy.
Some mornings the body is restless.
Some mornings we resist even stepping on the mat.

So we begin where we are — and just take the next breath.

Moving through the familiar rhythm of the Ashtanga Yoga sequence, posture by posture, breath by breath, things begin to settle.

We don’t have to arrive calm.
We just have to arrive.

Ashtanga yoga in the Scottish Borders and suitable for men and women of all levels. All classes currently online.

Ashtanga is a dynamic form of yoga that emphasises vinyasa (breath-movement coordination), drishti (focus point) and bandhas (internal locks). By following a series of postures that can be learned by heart, we can be fully in the present and attuned to the ever-changing inner landscape of the physical and mental body. Over time we gradually build strength and flexibility in the body and mind. With a frequent and dedicated practice we can purifying, re-align and re-balance the body. Mentally and emotionally we can create stronger neural pathways and weaken the stressful ones. Ashtanga Yoga is for everyone who is open to the possibility of change, and willing to put in the work required to see the changes manifest. We are all unique and come to yoga for different reasons, and with different bodies, so our practices may look different. The beauty of Ashtanga yoga is that we can practice the same method in a way that suits our individual needs.

If you are looking for a strong form of yoga, and are keen to develop your practice to gain the whole spectrum of mind-body benefits, this style of yoga may suit you.
