How long will it take to heal?
You want the honest answer?
I don't know!
Everyone's healing journey is unique, and how quickly someone gets results from Reiki treatment depends on a number of things.
Generally, the longer a condition has been in the making, the longer it will take to improve or undo. It's often been years of not listening to your body when it gave you subtle clues that eventually result in the scream, ie. the big symptom.
But even so, some people come in with significant problems, and they heal fast, or faster than most.
Typically, I ask clients to make an initial appointment to see how they like working with me, and how they like working with Jikiden Reiki. When they feel good about working together (healing work is always a partnership), I ask them to book 3 sessions close together: as this is usually (almost always) enough to crank up a dormant or sluggish natural healing system to a point where noticeable (if incremental) improvement happens.
At that point, the client's body usually gives me enough feedback to know where the problem areas are and you already know from your own experience that something very tangible (and beneficial) happens during jikiden reiki treatment, even though all I do is gently place my hands on your fully clothed body.
So then we make a plan. One of the secrets to my success is initial frequency. When you leave big gaps between sessions (and at the beginning of a healing journey one week is a big gap), all you can expect in terms of outcomes is a bit of relaxation.
Now don't get me wrong. In an age where stress is endemic, where numbing in front of Netflix with a glass of wine is mistaken for actually relaxing, and where people's nervous systems have forgotten what it feels like to be safe, achieving a state of deep relaxation counts for a lot: It is in the rest and repair state, that bodily functions such as digestion (or fertility for that matter) get prioritised (as our survival is not at stake), and this is the state in which bodies (and minds) heal.
But if we leave big gaps between sessions, it's like cranking up an engine, only to start over again the next time. Whereas, if we see each other frequently at the beginning, we crank up the engine (the body's innate healing ability), and we clear, we crank up the engine, and we clear, we crank up the engine.... and we gain traction. Ie. we begin to see results, lasting physical and mental improvements.
That's the typical pattern, and the secret sauce to my practice success.
And, there is always the exception.
Recently, I was absolutely honoured to work with an 83-year-old gentleman who (on the strongest recommendation) had made a 170 mile round trip on public transport in order to see me. He came to address balance issues, and this improved in 2 sessions (much faster than anticipated), at which point we decided to work on his blistery skin. The first photo was taken about a year ago, when the conditions first appeared, post covid. The dermatologist had given the all-clear (not cancer), but still, the skin was red, angry, raised. By the time my client came to see me, the skin was already less angry, but it was still blistery and in places, p***y. I've seen this dry up and heal with Reiki before, but not in 2 sessions!
So how come this remarkable elderly gentleman heals so exceptionally quickly? The answer my friends lies within everyone's grasp (but it's inconvenient, as it places responsibilty on us). This inspirational human being thinks well, eats well, moves well (he got faster up the stairs than my menopausal body!!) and he is very spiritually connected. So his system supports him well. Amazing really ❤
I feel so privileged to have met this person, and the conversations during Reiki treatment have been wide-ranging and fascinating.
I shall take a leaf out of his book !!
