Gill Jolleys Counselling

Gill Jolleys Counselling Compassionate, experienced B.A.C.P. Accredited Person -Centred Counsellor offering safe, confidentia Welcome. Feeling anxious and overwhelmed and unable to cope?

My name is Gill and I am a qualified, registered and insured counsellor, offering counselling to adults. As a person- centred counsellor, I bring my whole self into each session and work with presence and commitment with your well being to the fore at all time
Are you feeling isolated or alone? Maybe feeling confused by life and its challenges? You may have suffered bereavement(s), a trauma, loss,

abuse, or a life- changing experience which has left you feeling powerless and exhausted. Possibly you feel trapped and scared and not sure which way to turn or proceed. You are not alone. At times in life, we all may feel lost, vulnerable, unheard, unloved, isolated, misunderstood, damaged, rejected. Counselling enables us to explore our problems, thoughts and feelings in a confidential, supportive environment; you may gain a deeper understanding of yourself through the process, enabling you to restore some balance in your life and rebuild your resilience
Talking things through with me offers you a safe, confidential, non- judgemental space and someone with whom you can explore, share and express whatever is troubling you. You do not need to struggle on alone, I will support you, by deeply hearing and accepting your truth unconditionally, with respect, compassion and trust, enabling you to(begin to) live again, more truly at peace with yourself and others. I have a lifetime’s experience of working with horses, retraining rescued horses and horses. With them too I work harmoniously and correctly, without pressure, judgement or criticism, paying attention to detail, with clarity and endless patience, horses who have been ill treated and lost their trust in humans. This background forms the fabric of who I am and feeds into my counselling and we can work with a horse present if you prefer, we can walk and talk, or just be with the horse as a healing presence. )
I know that making the decision to contact a counsellor may be daunting- the thought of speaking about the most difficult problems to a person you do not know may be holding you back. So it is important to work alongside a counsellor you connect with, trust and with whom you can build a therapeutic relationship. You are at the centre of this process, within which we work with whatever you choose and at your pace. I have found that working in this way brings about change. I work face to face in a warm , comfortable indoor space in which we can maintain safe social distance, outdoors, online, by telephone. I offer a free, no obligation first consultation.

Pooh and Piglet realized they hadn't heard from Eeyore in a while, prompting them to don their hats and coats and venture across the Hundred Acre Wood to Eeyore's stick house. Inside, they found Eeyore.
"Hello Eeyore," said Pooh.
"Hello Pooh. Hello Piglet," said Eeyore, in a Glum Sounding Voice.
"We just thought we'd check in on you," said Piglet, "because we hadn't heard from you, and so we wanted to know if you were okay."
Eeyore was silent for a moment. "Am I okay?" he asked, eventually. "Well, I don't know, to be honest. Are any of us really okay? That's what I ask myself. All I can tell you, Pooh and Piglet, is that right now I feel really rather Sad, and Alone, and Not Much Fun To Be Around At All. Which is why I haven't bothered you. Because you wouldn't want to waste your time hanging out with someone who is Sad, and Alone, and Not Much Fun To Be Around At All, would you now."
Pooh looked at Piglet, and Piglet looked at Pooh, and they both sat down, one on either side of Eeyore in his stick house.
Eeyore looked at them in surprise. "What are you doing?"
"We're sitting here with you," said Pooh, "because we are your friends. And true friends don't care if someone is feeling Sad, or Alone, or Not Much Fun To Be Around At All. True friends are there for you anyway. And so here we are."
"Oh," said Eeyore. "Oh." And the three of them sat there in silence, and while Pooh and Piglet said nothing at all; somehow, almost imperceptibly, Eeyore started to feel a very tiny little bit better.
Because Pooh and Piglet were There.
No more; no less.

Thought for the day

Who knows where it all begins and ends? Therein lies the joy and suffering of what it means to be human. Let the feelings flow, invite them all in but release them from whence they came ....
