💜 Time to Recharge 💜

After another busy week filled with music, laughter, games, planning and plenty of cups of tea ☕️ — we’re taking a little step back this weekend.

Not because we don’t care (we always do ❤️) but because even the biggest hearts need a chance to rest and recharge.

We’ll be switching off from social media and work for a couple of days — ready to come back refreshed, full of ideas and with our batteries topped back up on Monday!🔋✨

The clocks go back this weekend.

For a loved one living with dementia, this can be incredibly overwhelming, leaving them feeling uneasy and disorientated. But there are a few simple things that can be put into place to try and prevent disruption to their normal routines.

Here’s how you can support your loved one:

Keep routines consistent by doing the same activities such as their afternoon stroll after lunch.

Let in plenty of natural sunlight throughout the day as this helps regulate the body's internal clock and prevents confusion.

Ideally use a clock that automatically changes as people with dementia often struggle to read the clock face. Having an auto setting on a digital clock helps to provide ease.

Use a soft night lamp as darkness falls to try and help their sleep-wake cycle feel normal.

The one thing you could try doing slightly differently to prepare them for the clock change is, on Saturday 25th October, present them with dinner around an hour earlier, as well as getting settled for bed.
