Did you know emotional and psychological stress doesn’t just affect your mind - it affects your fascia too?

Fascia is the body’s connective tissue network, and it responds to stress by tightening and bracing. Over time, that protective tension can show up as stiffness, restriction and physical pain.

Sometimes the ache isn’t just physical
- it’s the body holding onto stress.

The Bowen Technique works gently with the fascial system, helping the body soften, reset and release built-up tension.

Because when the nervous system feels safe, the body can finally let go.

Do you hold emotional stress in your body?

The neck and shoulders are a very common place this can happen.

I was just talking about this to a group of people during a well being workshop - everything in the body works together, so supporting the whole system really matters.

Stress can show up as tension.

Fatigue can affect movement.

Emotions can influence breathing patterns.

The body responds as a whole.

Bowen Therapy works with this integrated system — not isolated parts.

Because the body experiences life as one continuous process.

A lovely evening spent with the ladies at Bearsden Cross Church. Thank you so much for inviting me to speak at the Phoenix Circle tonight 🐦‍🔥🙏🏻

My aim was to introduce some simple, accessible wellbeing practices that support relaxation, mobility and self-care in a safe, natural way. 🙌

I’m passionate about helping people feel more comfortable in their bodies through gentle movement, holistic therapies, breathwork and mindfulness ✨

We spoke about the importance of gentle movement, human connection, hydration and breathwork, and shared a short breathing exercise together.

The ladies also enjoyed a guided hand massage using organic products from 💙🌎

I shared information from and and talked a little about my own journey into complementary therapies and the work I do now — from KCR to massage therapies and the Bowen Technique with .bowen 🙌

I had a script prepared… but true to form I went off on a tangent before the end of the first paragraph - sometimes things flow better when they take a more natural direction 😆🌱👌🏼

We finished the evening with a short mindfulness practice, some interesting questions, and of course a cuppa. 🫖

Raynaud’s is a condition where the blood vessels in the fingers and toes react too strongly to cold or stress, causing them to narrow. This can lead to sudden colour changes (white, blue, then red), along with numbness, tingling, or pain. Episodes can last minutes to hours and can make everyday activities surprisingly uncomfortable 😣

February is Raynaud’s Awareness Month 💙

If your hands know all too well what that sudden cold, numb feeling is like, you’re not alone & Bowen may help ease some of the symptoms by supporting circulation, reducing stress in the body, and encouraging overall balance.

Small moves, big relief.

Here’s to warmer hands and calmer days ☀️

Do you suffer with Raynauds? Have you tried Bowen to help your symptoms? 💬

Why rhythm is so important during a Bowen treatment, not just in the way we work with our hands but the way we move around the room, the way we speak … it all helps to nurture a sense of calm, allowing the body to feel safe and start to initiate a healing response.

Our bodies are always in motion — pulsing, flowing, communicating in ways we can’t always see.

New research shows that the gut and brain share some of the same rhythmic patterns, revealing just how connected our systems truly are.

For Bowen Therapists, this speaks to what we already sense: the body works best when its rhythms are in conversation.

At the core of what I do is Bowen Therapy - a gentle, hands-on technique that supports the body’s natural healing process. Whether you’re managing pain, stress or simply looking to feel more balanced, the Bowen Technique offers a powerful yet non-invasive way to restore wellbeing.

It can be particularly effective for:

* Chronic Pain (back, neck, shoulder, migraines & more)
* Sports Injuries & Injury Prevention
* Stress Management

I also offer massage therapies, tailored to ease tension, improve mobility and support recovery.

In addition, I offer wellbeing workshops for local groups - creating space to pause, breathe and reconnect with your wellbeing in a supportive environment, as well as running One Day Introduction to Bowen Therapy Workshops - ideal for anyone thinking about training in holistic therapies or who would like to gain the practical skills to help friends and family.

If you are curious about how I might be able to help you, would like to book a treatment or are part of a group that might benefit from a workshop, I’d love to hear from you.
