For anyone in Gateshead- look out for Know Your Floors vote if you shop at Tesco - we are trying to raise money to work on a project to improve perinatal care.

I’m really excited to let you know that Know Your Floors CIC has been successful in an application for a Tesco Community Grant.

Our project will be added to the voting boxes from the first week of July until 30th September in Gateshead stores.

If you are in Gateshead we would really appreciate your support in voting for us.

Our project aims to improve local antenatal and postnatal education for families to improve support for mental and physical health in the perinatal period.

***Could anyone help?***
I am putting together some posts for c-section awareness month but the stock photos don’t really represent the C-sections I see in clinics …. See the example I’ve attached!
Could anyone send me actual pictures of their scars? Just your abdomen (no face or anywhere else required!). I’m hoping to provide a post full of images of scars that are more realistic and help normalise a mother’s body. Showing keloid scars, stretch marks and beautiful mummy tummies.

Zoe from has shared her postpartum story on the Jeremy Vine show and is collecting stories and raising awareness of pelvic health issues. Take a look at her page.

Postpartum care is still very focused on babies. With voices like Zoe’s, it is improving but there’s a long way still to go.

If you are struggling please seek help. I love my job and so many pelvic health physios out there are working hard to support women postnatally. Find your local physio or see a GP.
