Spotlight on our fantastic Head Chef Alex at Buckingham House.

Alex has been part of our team for over 2 years now and supports our residents to have a delicious, varied and well-balanced diet.
Our new winter menu is now in full swing, but we have kept our well loved salads to order on the menu as this has become a new top favourite for our residents at Buckingham House.

Tuesday 2nd December, 2-4pm we’ll share insights about dementia, offer practical tips for families, and create a space for friendly conversations with our care team.

We're supporting Childrens Hospital Pyjamas, to help with donations where possible!

This incredible cause collects donations of brand new pyjamas, from the public, which they then donate to hospitals, hospices and women’s refuges across the UK. These are then given to poorly or less fortunate children who are inpatients.

Beer Tasting at Buckingham House!

It was an extra fun afternoon at the home, once our beer trolley started making the rounds. In celebration of International Beer Day, we had a wide variety of beers available to try: Irish, Czech, Danish, Belgian... you name it, we had it all, and the people living with us were all for it! Bringing the pub to the home ended up bringing many smiles too and they truly enjoyed every sip, along with the outpour of memories from their favourite pubs back in the day.

Music Therapy at Buckingham House. Vache Baroque and Chiltern Music Therapy ‘s collaborative musical project came to life at the home, and what a delight it was for the lovely people living with us!

It was a spectacle for all the senses, which brought so much joy, happiness and comfort for them. They had a chance to either sing along to the music, play a percussion instrument to accompany the rhythm or just sit back and enjoy the performance. With both group and private sessions echoing all across the home, no one missed out on this special musical experience.

Animal Therapy at Buckingham House.

It was all smiles when Monti ‘The Therapy Dog’ came to see the lovely people living with us for his monthly visit. They had the pleasure of petting him, giving him a treat or two and of course watching him do his latest tricks!

Everyone was eagerly awaiting their turn and couldn’t get enough of Monti! It was an hour of pure joy, warmth, and More...Connnection.

National Marine Week at Buckingham House.

In tune with this years’ theme chosen by The Wildlife Trust “Secrets of our Seabeds”, the people living with us coloured seashells and starfish with glow in the dark paint during our More...Creativity session. It was a way to acknowledge the beauty of our oceans, and a chance for everyone to reminisce about their holiday experiences at beaches here and abroad.

They relished the feel of the shells and their appearance made them smile!
