This *really* concerns me
I spoke yesterday with a lovely lady who has been tempted to buy retatrutide for weight loss from an âaesthetic providerâ.
She received vials of powder, solvent and syringes in the post with no instructions of what to do next.
Retatrutide is currently in Phase III trials (TRIUMPH clinical trial programme) for adults with obesity or overweight and knee osteoarthritis. Itâs activates the bodyâs GLP-1 and GIP receptors (like tirzepatide / Mounjaro) with the addition of working on glucagon receptors, too. ie. A triple agonist.
The trials show greater weight loss than the dual agonist which is tempting for many people.
ie. retatrutide isnât currently licensed for human use.
However, the âblack marketâ are exploiting legal loopholes and selling research grade peptides which are not intended for human (or even veterinary)use. They are for laboratory use and research only. Therefore, unregulated and unsafe.
And generally come at a much cheaper price than the prescription medicines.
Please donât be tempted by these. There is no
đMHRA approval
đGMP standards (medicines must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), which ensures correct dose, sterility, and quality control - and these products do not.
đ verifiable content: the strength, purity, and sterility cannot be verified
đ verified certificates: even if they include certificates of analysis or âhigh purityâ claims, rhey are often self-issued or from unaccredited labs.
đ recall if something goes wrong.
If youâre looking to lose weight with a GLP-1, please choose a pharmacy registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
You only have one body.
