Looking back at my cricket days and honestly missing it more than I thought I would 🏏
Played at a pretty high amateur level for years - wasn’t the most talented guy on the field, but I gave everything I had. What I miss most isn’t the individual moments or personal stats… it’s the bond with the lads.
There’s something special about cricket teamwork that’s hard to explain. The way you’d back each other up in the field, the encouragement when someone was struggling with the bat, the celebrations that felt like family. Those long days in the sun, the banter between overs, the way we’d fight for each other even when the game was slipping away.
I might not have been the best player, but I was part of something bigger. Cricket taught me that individual talent only gets you so far - it’s the team that makes the magic happen.
