🩺Minor illness clinic🩺

We’re here to help you feel better, faster. The Medway Rainham PCN offers a dedicated Minor Illness Service twice a week, designed to support patients aged 3 months and over with common health concerns that don’t require an emergency appointment.

Our service runs every:

Tuesday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) – Telephone consultations

Thursday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) – Face-to-face clinic at Orchard Family Practice

Our experienced clinician can assess and treat a range of minor conditions, including:

💊Sore throats

💊Earache

💊Chest infections

💊Coughs

💊High temperatures

And many more!

We aim to provide prompt and effective care while helping to reduce waiting times for GP appointments.

How to Book:

Simply contact your GP surgery or submit an e-Consult request online, and our team will arrange the most suitable appointment for you.

This service is available to all patients registered with a Medway Rainham PCN practice.

Let us take care of the little things, so you can get back to feeling your best.

📢 Mounjaro (tirzepatide) – Who Can Get It on the NHS?

We've had many questions about Mounjaro, the new weight loss injection. Here's what you need to know:

💉 Mounjaro is currently only available on the NHS for a small group of patients, under strict criteria:

✅ You must:

Be 18 or over

Have a BMI of 40+, or 37.5+ if you’re from a Black, Asian or other minority ethnic background

Have 4 or more weight-related health conditions (e.g. type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, heart disease)

Kent and Medway ICB have produced FAQ information which can be found here.

Thank you for helping us keep our lines clear for those who need medical care. 💙

Mounjuro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a drug which has been licensed and approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for managing overweight and obesity.

Hempstead Medical Centre has now re-opened.
We are still awaiting replacement of the railings so kindly ask that patients do not park on the front forecourt.

Thank you for your patience during the closure

We are very sorry but we are experiencing a high level of GP illness at the moment. Unfortunately we are having to rearrange a number of appointments to allow us to see the most urgent cases. Rebooking appointments is always a last resort option and we apologise for any inconvenience this causes you.

Unless you hear from us please attend any appointments you have booked. We will contact all affected patients.

We are very grateful to those of you who complete our friends and family test surveys following your appointments and we know how weary it can become being asked to complete Customer Feedback. However, feedback is an important part of information gathering in order to improve and shape our services for you.

Our Patient Participation Group has worked with the practice to put together a survey with more targeted questions so that we can get a better picture of your views as our patients.

If you are able to spare 5 minutes to complete this short multiple choice survey we would be really grateful.

All answers are completely anonymous and we ask you not to include any identifiable data in your responses.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.
