Happy Valentine's Day! Do you celebrate it or do you see it as just another Hallmark Holiday?
Whether you are a firm believer of marking Valentine's Day with roses and chocolates, or you're not, as parents-to-be and new parents, this year, it could be just the excuse you need to remember who you are as a couple.
There may be no champagne popping if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, and you may be joined for the evening by your little baby, so things may feel a little different this year. But you can still mark the moment. You could take the prompt of Valentine's Day to sit back and savour the moment - despite the tiredness, despite perhaps not feeling your best, perhaps in pyjamas with milk stains and a messy mum bun, but whoa, just sit there....look at your baby, or bump. Look how much you have to celebrate. Look at what you have both created. Look how far you, as a team have come.
If you are not a Valentine's subscriber, that's fine. But every now and then we all need a prompt to connect with our loved ones, our partner, the other team member, and be thankful. So red roses and heart shaped balloons can come and go, but today, can you spend a bit of time together to be together?
With love from the Mum, Midwife & Me Team x
