We are delighted to announce that Oakland Care has received The King's Awards for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK, celebrating outstanding achievement in areas including innovation, sustainable development and social mobility.

Oakland Care has been recognised for its long-standing commitment to , with environmentally responsible practices embedded across all aspects of our operations, from energy efficiency and waste reduction to sustainable building design and biodiversity initiatives.

This week has already brought some truly special moments. Our Dominoes & Coffee social in the bistro was filled with laughter, friendly competition
and wonderful conversations that brought everyone closer together.

Today we spent some peaceful time in the garden, planting flowers and enjoying the fresh air. There’s something so calming about being outdoors, It was a gentle, meaningful activity that everyone could enjoy and a lovely reminder of how nature can lift our spirits. 🌸☕

We had such a lovely visit today the children from Fairview Community Primary School 💛

The children spent time reading to our wonderful residents, and it truly brought so much joy to everyone involved. There’s something so special about seeing different generations come together — the smiles, laughter, and shared moments meant more than words can say.

🐾 Yesterday, some of our lovely residents had a delightful outing to Fenn Bell Zoo! 🌟 They had a wonderful time exploring the zoo and getting up close with the animals.

The joy on their faces was priceless as they shared stories and laughter while discovering the diverse wildlife. After the adventure, they enjoyed a lovely pub lunch together, making the day even more special.

We were honored with a visit from the lovely Pearly Queen, who led us in a heartfelt singalong. 🎶 It was a beautiful experience to reminisce about our favorite songs and share moments that brought smiles and warmth to our hearts.

We also had Our bistro filled with laughter and joy as we gathered for a fun St. George’s themed quiz, indulging in delightful refreshments and scrumptious cakes. 🎂

This week has been filled with engaging activities:

🏌️‍♂️ Indoor Golf: Residents enjoyed a fun game of indoor golf, boosting movement, coordination, and teamwork while sharing lots of laughs!

💐 Flower Arranging: Our creative flower arranging workshop allowed residents to express themselves artistically, enhancing fine motor skills while creating beautiful displays for our home.

🍰 Trifle Making: We indulged in a delicious trifle-making session, encouraging social interaction and cognitive skills through following a recipe, all while enjoying the tasty results together.

🌟 This week has been truly special at a Osbern Manor as we celebrated National Scrabble Day and Art Day! 🎨🧩

These activities were moments of connection, creativity, and laughter that uplifted our residents' spirits. Scrabble allowed us to exercise our minds, engage in friendly competition, and share stories behind our favorite words, igniting cherished memories and building friendships.

Meanwhile, Art Day opened doors to self-expression, enabling our residents to unleash their inner artists and explore their creativity without judgment. The joy of painting, crafting and creating together not only beautified our space but also fostered a sense of belonging and community.

These activities remind us of the importance of nurturing our minds and souls, providing an opportunity to connect with one another in meaningful ways. We are grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to making these days so memorable. Here’s to many more moments of joy, creativity, and connection! 💖

🌼 More fantastic activities for our lovely residents! 💖 This time we enjoyed some gentle seated exercises led by Karen, which always brings smiles and keeps everyone moving!

We were also thrilled to have Rob T perform for us, taking our residents on a nostalgic journey through the decades. 🎶✨ It was a joy to reminisce and sing along together!

To top it off, residents experienced relaxing hand massages from Caroline’s Organics, allowing them to unwind and enjoy some well-deserved pampering. And let’s not forget the beautiful sunshine we soaked up while spending time outdoors! ☀️🌷

These moments not only bring joy but also create lasting connections and memories
