Did you know?

Yes, osteopaths are great at helping when you are injured or in pain but did you know that you can visit an osteopath BEFORE any pain comes?

Many patients come for treatments that help them relax, relieve stress or just keep them in tip top condition keeping those aches and pains at bay.

You wouldn't wait for your car to break down before you fill it with fuel (unless you're my Son! 😏) so why treat your body the same!

Also as you don’t need a referral from your doctor to see an osteopath, you will typically be able to see an osteopath quickly, without the long waiting times that often occur with other treatment options!

In honour of 'National Pain Awareness Month' this September. We are bringing awareness to Chronic pain (CP).

CP directly impacts between one-third and one-half (just under 28 million adults) of people in the UK alone.

It can last months or years and can be felt anywhere in the body. It interferes with daily life and can lead to depression and anxiety. The first step in treatment is to find and treat the cause. This may involve multiple treatment options working together to reduce pain.

CP can happen as a result of physical trauma or illness and can persist long after the original injured tissue has healed.
Some people have CP that’s not due to physical injury or illness. It may be caused by psychological trauma. This type of pain is called psychogenic pain or psychosomatic pain. It’s caused by factors such as stress, anxiety, depression, or mental health disorders or a 'memory' that your body and brain have not yet resolved.

Most common places for CP are:
Back pain (53%).
Headache (48%).
Joint pain (46%)
With over 70% of sufferers being women!

Guidelines recommend that *Osteopathy* be used to treat CP.
Varying approaches can be taken that will suit most.

✨Meet the team✨

Kerry discovered her desire for Osteopathy after many years of health issues that only responded positively after seeing an osteopath. Now pain free, and with her history of mentoring, her desire is to see others reach their full potential in health as well as life. Treating every patient as the unique creation they are, tailoring treatment to their individual needs.

Currently studying phlebotomy, IV Vitamin infusion and IM Vitamin injections, her desire to bring all that she can to her patients shows in her dynamic personality.

Away from the Clinic, Kerry enjoys spending time with her husband, 5 children and 2 grandsons. Outside of this, she enjoys learning new skills and being creative!

✨Meet the team✨

Andrea's journey into osteopathy began in the early 2000s when she worked as a dental nurse alongside international speaker, author and systemic dentist, Dr. Bill Kellner-Read. His 'wholistic' approach deeply inspired her.

Witnessing the positive impact of a multidisciplinary approach, motivated Andrea to pursue a career in osteopathy.

As a dedicated practitioner, Andrea passionately believes in a holistic approach to well-being, focusing on techniques that harness the body's natural healing abilities. her tailored treatments are designed to meet each individual's unique needs, ensuring positive outcomes.

What is Osteopathy?

We get asked this ALOT!
Alongside the question "Isn't that to do with the back and bones?"

Oh no, its more exciting than that!

Osteopaths believe that to maintain maximum health the whole self needs to be assessed.
This is why at Omni a global approach is taken when looking at the body. Techniques used include touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase joint mobility, relieve muscle tension, enhance blood and nerve supply to tissues, facilitating your body’s own healing mechanism and helping to relieve symptoms and treat many medical conditions.
