and many more. We're a £59 million business with over 1,300 staff and as a social enterprise, we are free to invest any profit we make into further improving our services, and into our local communities. We're incredibly proud of what we do, and all of our achievements reflect the passion, dedication and commitment demonstrated by our staff across all services. These qualities are borne out of our values:
- Working in partnership
- Delivering quality and value
- Being caring and compassionate

These values underpin everything we do with our staff, patients and commissioners of our services. We work together to ensure that we deliver a consistently high quality patient experience, and strive towards our vision of a successful, vibrant community interest company, that benefits the communities we serve. Our purpose it to provide community health and social care services principally across Medway and the surrounding areas.

This week is Deaf Awareness Week (4 to 10 May 2026).
The aim is to promote deaf awareness in order to create a more inclusive society by improving access to communication for deaf and hard of hearing people.
The Royal Association of the Deaf are offering a free 30 minute online deaf awareness taster session. This will take place on 6th May at 2:30pm. Please visit: https://royaldeaf.org.uk/deaf-awareness-week-2026/

Tips for communicating with people who are deaf/hard of hearing:
- Be face-to-face.
- Check the person's preferred method of communication.
- Make sure you have the person's attention before you begin speaking.
- Make the topic of conversation clear.
- Make sure the person can see your face clearly. Make sure the room is well-lit. Make sure there is no light behind the person speaking (for example, don't stand with your back to the window or the sun).
- Speak clearly but don't slow down, shout or exaggerate your speech.
- Speak one at a time.

Join a free 30-minute Deaf awareness session this week. Help your team communicate confidently and improve accessibility in your organisation.
