As the seasons slips gently into autumn, we notice the changes in weather, colours in nature, light quality and quantity, and, of course, the weather.
This indicates the subtle yet determined way that energy changes cyclically around us, and is beginning to gather and move downwards; leaves fall off the trees, plants stop producing new flowers and the last of the harvests, such as blackberries and a few remaining apples, are gathered in. It is the season in which we can at long lsat benefit from that which we have sown and nurtured throughout the previous year. As forces shift we begin to settle into a slower pace of living as the darkness gathers around us for the winter. For optimal well-being we follow the natural lead; eating warm coloured foods such as squash, orange peppers and ginger, and wearing warmer colours too which is an autumn delight for me that just fits well.
There can be quite a celebratory air to these months and haloween and bonfire nights fits the quality of the energy of this season perfectly; it is here to be gathered, appreciated and enjoyed.
