— Aha! You’re coming to Yoga Nidra at Coffee and Canines Shop!
Come and lie down. Rest. Be guided into deep relaxation.
Next Tuesday evening - 6th January, if you would like to come, I'm holding a Deep Rest session at Coffee and Canines Shop on the high street in Gillingham. No experience is needed to attend. Everyone is welcome. Bring something to lie down on, and a blanket and socks.
We'll be doing a practice called Yoga Nidra. It's a yogic relaxation method that takes you into a tranquil space between being awake and asleep. You do it lying down (though it can be done seated), and all you have to do is listen to my voice as I guide you into this deeply restful state.
Being properly rested is so good for your health and sense of wellbeing. Yoga Nidra opens up ways to release tension in body, emotion and mind naturally, simply by being present. All you have to do is lie down as my voice guides you through the process.
Because it slows down the brain waves, the practice stimulates a healing response in the body, just like when you are asleep. After a Yoga Nidra session, and especially with regular sessions, you may find that you:
sleep better
feel less stressed and anxious
shift more easily away from unhelpful, "stuck" patterns of thought
begin a journey towards processing unresolved emotional content
experience sharper clarity of mind
get less triggered and reactive
have lower blood pressure
We'll do some small, easeful bending, extending and rotating movements which increase circulation in the joints and organs beforehand, gently stimulating energy meridians and the lymphatic system and helping to unblock stuck points of energy beforehand, nothing strenuous.
