We had an amazing time on Skye at the Remote and Rural Medicine Conference!

At this jam packed weekend exploring Skye we
✅ climbed a munro
✅ did some wild swimming
✅ ceilidh danced
✅ ran a 5k
✅ listened to live music

Not to mention running a mass casualty simulation and hearing incredibly inspiring talks at the conference!

Thank you so much to for having us and thanks to for some great teaching 😁

We had an amazing time this weekend at our first ever simulation weekend! Massive well done to everyone doing so well getting stuck in with advanced and demanding scenarios at A-E Atoll Clinic 🧡💚

Paediatric Emergencies AND Simulation Weekend Info and Sign Ups!

Join us next week for a session on paediatric emergencies. A new topic for many of us, so please come along and learn more - no experience or prior attendance required!

ALSO we will be sharing more information about the upcoming simulation weekend and releasing initial sign ups for people interested! This is a session not to miss!

GUEST SPEAKER DR ROSS MOY 💚🧡🥳
We are so excited to announce that next week's session will be a talk on military medicine by Dr Ross Moy, consultant in Pre Hospital and Emergency Medicine. 🚁🩺

Ross was one of the amazing doctors who came along to Wild Trials last year to help us run a weekend of competition scenarios and we are so happy to have him join GWEMS again! 🏔️

Join us at 6.30pm on Tuesday 21st January in 42 Bute Gardens Room 916 - everyone is welcome to come along, whether or not you've been before!

WELCOME BACK! 🧡💚🥳
We are so excited to kick off the new semester with a round robin session of different clinical skills stations. 🩺

This is perfect if this is your first session of GWEMS or you're feeling a bit rusty, its great for 1st years to learn some clinical skills and older years to brush up for OSCEs.

It will be a fun, hands-on and practical session with a scenario at the end to put your skills to practice! 🥼

Meet us at 6.30pm THIS Tuesday 14th January in room 717 at 42 Bute Gardens.

Intro Weekend Day 2

Everyone got involved with mass casualty simulations as both patients and responders!
Committee got creative with make up and moulage to create some scary looking injuries🩸🤕
This year's scenarios involved a hot air balloon 🎈 crash and LARPing event gone wrong....⚔️🛡️

Intro Weekend Day 1
A day of snow, sun, wind and rain - the participants braved it all! ❄️ ☀️ 🌬️ 🌧️
We had some excellent teaching from mountain rescue and got involved with extrication!
The night time search and rescue was very successful and we all relaxed with some games and a fun evening social 🪩🕺

We are happy to announce that this week Logan will be running a very important session on mental health first aid and psychological safety.

As always, everyone is welcome, no experience or medical background required so please come along even if it's your first time!

We are very excited to announce that next week's session will be led by guest speaker Colin Smart. 🥳📢

In this weeks session, Colin will be sharing his expertise from his research into cold medicine and how to look after patients in extreme environments and we will also be putting this into practice with some scenarios! 🌨️ ☃️

Extrication and Splinting! 📢

Come along to our session at 6.30pm in the JMS this Tuesday and learn how to use splints, secure a patient to a spinal board and safely extricate them 🚨🚑

This fun, practical session will be a hands on opportunity to get involved, with no experience necessary 😁
