Iv shared about the spoon theory before and I think it’s important to revisit it often.
When someone is new to feeling pain or discomfort, they often try to push through and it can then take longer for them to heal.
So checking in with yourself as you start your day is a good way to help manage and balance your expectations.
Did you sleep well?
How busy is your day ahead?
Where is your pain levels at?
How can you help yourself?
Hydration,
Prioritising rest periods when you can
( so planning and scheduling them in, it’s not lazy to use time for recovery)
Good nutritious food to aid muscle repair)
Finishing your food by a certain time of night to allow better digestion, this means your body can focus or rest and repair as you sleep.
Reminding your body what it can do with gentle movement, working with your breath, to help your body feel safe and building from there.
Be kind to yourself as you navigate this time in your life.
Those who live with pain long term have learned to manage their expectations and and know that fatigue management is so important.
So please go gently with yourself and give your body the tools it needs to do what it innately, is designed to do.
Much Love
Nic
