The run up to Christmas seems to have come around very fast this year! A few of our practitioners embraced the season and attended the I Love Clarkston Christmas event recently. They really enjoyed meeting the local community and explaining more about the wellbeing services on offer locally. CBT therapist Claire Gage (JustB), Angela Gallagher (Rooted We Rise pictured), Claire De Marco (Counsellor) and CBT Therapist Louise Maughan (NeverMind) were all in attendance. We recently held our Autumn Network event for health and wellbeing professionals at in Busby. We had two inspiring talks from our speakers Clarkston Speech and Language Therapy and Dr Ben Chetcuti from Southside Psychiatry. This prompted some great conversations around providing client centred care, navigating the private practice/NHS interface and embracing the brave new world of marketing! New connections were made and special mention to the scones which were highly rated! Must remember to take better photos next time 😅

The Greenbank Rooms wishes a warm welcome to Alan Brodie, who provides appointments from our Peel Park, East Kilbride offices. Alan is a qualified counsellor, trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and is a member of the professional body COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland). Alan’s approach to therapy is to try not to over-complicate, but be practical, and compassionate. He’ll bring structure and evidence-based techniques from CBT, but also listen closely to what matters most to clients. Every person is unique, so sessions will be shaped around client goals, and at a pace that feels right. Alan works with clients experiencing all types of anxiety, including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, and panic, as well as challenges such as low self-esteem and depression. Pregnancy and baby loss touches so many lives, and yet it is often a very private and isolating grief. Baby loss awareness week culminates in the International Wave of Light on October 15th, when people around the world light candles at 7 p.m. to create a continuous wave of light in memory of all babies who have died too soon.
