Mull Medical Practice

Hi everyone, there has been a lot of changes at the surgery over the past few months.
As most of you will be aware, Dr Alam retired at the end of April.
The surgery is now called Mull Medical Practice and we have some new staff -

Dr Moughal who sits on a Friday.
Dr Alvi who sits on a Monday and a Thursday.
Nurse Khan is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) who is in 5 days a week. (Some of you may already know Nurse Khan as she worked in the Practice several years ago as the Practice Nurse and has more recently covered for Dr Alam when he was on annual leave.)
Sandra is our Practice Manager.
Elaine is part of the Admin team and works in reception, Elaine has several years of experience and worked with Dr Moughal and Dr Alvi in their previous Practice.

Louise and Freya are still here.

Louise still has clinics on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but appointments now need to be booked in advance. There is no drop in anymore. She is in reception the rest of the week.

Freya now only works in the afternoons.

Amy is no longer with the Practice and is enjoying her new job.

Patients do not need to do anything, everyone registered at the Practice is still registered and the new doctors are happy to take over your care.

We now have a website www.mullmedicalpractice.co.uk which gives a lot of useful information so please feel free to familiarise yourself with it as this page will mostly only be used as a means of getting information out quickly when required.

The surgery will be closed on Monday for the bank holiday. We will open again on Tuesday with phones available from 8AM and door open at 9AM. Please remember its phone triage now there is NO drop in appointments for GPs.
We are in the process of creating a new page for the surgery with up to date information and will post the link when it's ready

The surgery is closed on Monday 5th May for the bank holiday. We will re-open at 9AM on Tuesday 6th May with phones being available from 8AM. There is no patient access into the surgery for any reason between 8AM - 9AM.

As most of you know Dr Alam is retiring tomorrow after 42 years in the Practice.
Would any patient able to take this off the wall be kind enough to do so tomorrow so we can give it to Dr Alam as a keepsake?
It would be much appreciated!

Dr Moughal and Dr Alvi will be taking over from Dr Alam on Thursday 1st May.
Patients will be provided with further information over the next few days. Please be patient with staff whilst the changes are taking place and rest assured that there will be no disruption to your care.

Unfortunately Louise won't be available for the rest of the week. If you need bloods urgently please call the surgery to be referred to phlebotomy. Anything else please call the surgery for advice. Apologies for any inconvenience caused

As you will probably know by now, Dr Alam is retiring on 30th April. We have left a book at reception for patients to leave a wee message for him to thank him or wish him well for his retirement. Please feel free to pop in to leave a message for him

Phones are working again

We are still having the same issue as yesterday with the phones today, we won't be able to speak with the phone company until 9AM. We will update when we have more information. Apologies again for the disruption.
If you cannot get through on the phone, you can order your prescription online, please email ggc.gp52260@nhs.scot with correct names and dosages of your medication and which pharmacy you would like it passed to.

We are having an issue with the phones this morning, the phone company are aware of the issue as it is affecting a lot of lines in the city. They are trying to fix it but can't give us a time frame unfortunately.
Some calls seem to be getting through but cutting off, it appears the majority aren't getting through at all.
We will post here when the issue is fixed.
