Spring is here 🌱✨ and you can feel that gentle shift all around, longer days, brighter skies, and nature beginning to wake up again. From daffodils and hyacinths to those adorable baby Highland cows, everything is reminding us that new beginnings are always possible.

In our seasonal yoga practice, we lean into this fresh energy. Spring is all about fresh energy and new beginnings. It’s linked to the Wood element, with rising energy, just like buds bursting into bloom or sap rising in the trees.

We focus on the liver and gallbladder, supporting detox and direction. You might notice postures that twist, side bend, and root you firmly into the ground while encouraging flexibility, both in body and mind.

It’s a beautiful time to shake off the heaviness of winter, create space, and gently grow into whatever this new season is inviting for you 🌿💛

If you would like to share this Spring practice with me, my classes are at 7.30pm at Merrylea Parish church, Merrylee Road, Newlands every Wednesday evening. Would love to see you there🧘🏾‍♂️🧘🏼‍♀️😊🙏

Spotted this sign over amazing pancakes at breakfast during a few days away in Málaga and it felt very fitting for International Women’s Day!

Feeling grateful for the incredible women I work alongside every day - both as a paediatric nurse and through yoga. From caring for little ones and their families to sharing space on the mat, I’m constantly reminded how strong and supportive women can be!

Here’s to lifting each other up. Happy International Women’s Day!

🌕✨ Full Moon Energy ✨🌕

As tonight’s Full Moon lights up the winter sky, it's a gentle reminder to pause, reflect and reset.

We’ll be carrying that energy into tomorrow night’s class with a calm, grounding seasonal flow.

Expect steady breath, gentle movement and space to release what feels heavy: creating balance and harmony as we move towards the end of this winter season.

❄️ It's been really lovely to welcome new class members to the mat!

❄️ We shared a lovely warming class last night as we continue to work on slowing down and going inward for Winter.

❄️ Come and join us next week as we gently work with the kidney and bladder meridians to nurture resilience and conserve energy during the darker months.

❄️ In Winter, nothing is expected to bloom, rest is not a failure, it's part of the cycle.

As the season invites us to slow down, join me tomorrow night for a gentle Winter yoga flow designed to soften the body, steady the mind, and ground the nervous system.

We’ll move slowly and mindfully, weave in grounding breathwork, and finish with a deeply nourishing yoga nidra— the perfect way to unwind, restore, and prepare for a restful night’s sleep.

✨ Expect calm movement
✨ Soothing breath
✨ Deep rest and relaxation

All levels welcome. Come exactly as you are.

Beautiful Autumn colours in Pollok park this afternoon! 🍂🍂
This is my favourite time of year! I love the colours and walking through the leaves. I also love how the trees show us how easy it is to let go!

In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) the season of Autumn is the Metal element. The focus is on letting go of abundance & turning inward.

What can you let go of this Autumn? Negative thoughts, relationships, things that are no longer serving you or benefitting you?

Even though the leaves are turning and the air feels more autumnal 🍂, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine we’re still in Late Summer for another few weeks 🌾

This season is all about nourishing ourselves, slowing down, grounding, and giving our bodies the kind of care that carries us smoothly into autumn. Think warm, wholesome meals, extra rest, and practices that really feed the soul ✨

How are you nourishing yourself right now? 💛
I would love to hear in the comments.

It has been a busy few weeks for me completing some more training for my CPD!

For the past year & a half I have been doing the 50hr Alignment, Adjustment & Inclusion course with & . It has been such a fantastic course, giving us lots of opportunities to practice hands on adjustments & learn about how to be an inclusive yoga teacher. This course has increased my confidence in offering adjustments in my classes & ensuring my students get the most from their practice.🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏾‍♂️

I also had the opportunity to be one of the first students on 50hr Wildsong Yoga Nidra Facilitator Training. This course taught me about the history of yoga nidra, the different styles of nidra & their lineages & gave me the opportunity to practice leading nidras with the rest of the group. I am now able to create & lead my own yoga nidras with my students.🕉 🙏

I would highly recommend both of these courses to fellow yogis who wish to deepen their practice.

A big thank you to & for facilitating these courses! 🙏
