One of the things we hear from patients with keratoconus is this:

“I’ve been told I need to stick to very small glasses.”

Over time, that message can make people feel like they have no choice.

Yes, high cyl prescriptions absolutely need careful thought. They need experience, and precise measurements. But they do not automatically mean tiny frames or poor vision in specs.

With the right frame shape, additional measurements and expert dispensing, we can often achieve really good visual outcomes in frames you genuinely love wearing.

The frame in this photo was chosen by a patient with a -9.50 cyl. Just look at how beautifully those lenses have turned out.

Living with keratoconus can be frustrating, especially if glasses or standard contact lenses haven’t worked well for you.

Scleral lenses can be a great option for many keratoconus patients, often offering better comfort and more stable, clearer vision throughout the day.

At Exact Eyecare, we provide specialist scleral lens fittings, taking time to assess each eye and tailor the lenses to you. If you’ve struggled with other options, this could be worth exploring.

Reading shouldn’t feel uncomfortable — for children or adults 📚

Visual stress can make reading difficult, causing symptoms like headaches, eye strain, poor concentration, or words appearing to move or blur. Standard eye tests don’t always pick this up.

At Exact Eyecare, we offer a reading assessment to check for visual stress and see whether coloured overlays may help make reading more comfortable and easier.

Eye care starts early 👀💙

This is Sharlene's daughter, having her eye test: she’s just 4 years old.

At Exact Eyecare, we provide eye examinations for patients of all ages, from young children to adults.
Children’s eyes are constantly developing, which is why anyone under 16 should have an eye test every year. Regular eye examinations help us detect vision problems early, supporting learning, confidence, and healthy visual development.

👉 Children’s eye tests are FREE and fully covered by the NHS.
If you’re unsure whether your child needs an eye test, our friendly and experienced team is always happy to advise.

Rather than more frames going to landfill, we’ve teamed up with Bird Eyewear to give them
another life. Our new frame recycling box is ready to use in our practice.

✔️We can accept:
● Any frame material
● Any condition (even if it is broken)
● Any manufacturer or model
● Sunglasses, glasses, prescription or non-prescription.

❌We cannot accept:
● Cases or lenses that are not attached to a frame.
