It was another busy weekend for the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative as we visited Aberdeen for three days of free PSA testing at the Aberdeen Sports Village.

Hundreds of men were tested across the sessions, and their willingness to take part will play a vital role in exploring how the existing clinical pathway for detecting and treating prostate cancer can be improved.

Public events in our first phase of testing will conclude this week as the Initiative travels south to Hawick and Galashiels. The events are almost fully booked but keep an eye on www.scottishprostate.com/Events/ in case any spaces become available!

We are currently planning our testing events for phase 2 after the summer.

It’s been another busy week for the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative 💙

Our team has been out testing across Falkirk, Larbert and Perth, continuing our mission to raise awareness and save lives.

Today, we were warmly welcomed by Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC, where we were delighted to test over 600 people — a super turnout!

A huge thank you to David Love, Andrew Benjamin, Inverness CTFC, and everyone who took part for your support. Together, we’re making a real difference.

Hundreds of men in Dundee have this week undergone free, potentially life-saving checks for prostate cancer as the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative arrived in the City of Discovery.

The Initiative is being financially supported by Sandy and James Easdale and it was their bus company, Xplore Dundee, part of McGill's Buses, hosting three days of free PSA testing.

The Initiative, which launched in Glasgow last month with the backing of Sir Chris Hoy, former Scotland rugby international Kenny Logan and a host of employers and organisations including Dundee City Council, has already seen thousands of men come forward for testing across the country. The Dundee events form part of a wider nationwide rollout that will see 25,000 men aged between 40 and 80 offered free PSA testing throughout 2026.

This video was filmed at one of our recent PSA testing events in Paisley, hosted by The Malcolm Group at the Donald Malcolm Heritage Centre, who opened the doors to their incredible venue to help bring PSA testing directly into the community.

We hear from participants on the day, many of whom had never had a PSA test before, describing the experience as simple, quick and painless. A straightforward blood test. No physical examination. In and out in minutes. And the results can indicate your risk of prostate cancer.

Thanks to our partners, EDX Medical Group, who we work with to deliver these important testing events. With an online booking platform and a professional team of phlebotomists, we were able to test over 750 men for prostate health on this day alone.

PSA testing events continue across the country in April and May.

With events at Arnold Clark, Meadowbank Leisure Centre, and Boroughmuir Rugby Club, we were delighted to test over 1,500 people, including former Scotland international rugby player, Sean Lineen. Thanks to everyone who joined us - your support helps us continue to raise awareness and save lives.

Another great - and busy - session of testing for the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative as 800 men in Linwood today took free PSA tests as we continue to seek improvements to the early detection of prostate cancer.

Thanks to The Malcolm Group for hosting the Initiative at the Donald Malcolm Heritage Centre once more and to all the men who came along to be tested.

It's been a little over a fortnight since we launched the Scottish Prostate Cancer Initiative in Glasgow with the support of Sir Chris Hoy, Kenny Logan and Sir Tom Hunter.

Since then, approaching 10,000 men have been booked onto or attended one of our testing events during the pilot and Phase 1 of the Initiative. So far, events have been held at Linwood, Paisley and Glasgow with Edinburgh, Dundee, Larbert, Falkirk, Perth, Inverness, Aberdeen, Hawick, Galashiels and Dumfries still to come.

We know many testing dates are now fully booked but keep an eye on social media and our website and we will confirm more availability and dates in the coming months.
