For the Chinese new year we discussed lots of different things that came from china found out our Chinese zodiac animals and had our Chinese lunch ,opened our fortune cookies whilst watching different places in china with some gentle Chinese music.we also had our pancakes for pancake day for our afternoon tea

To celebrate Valentine’s Day we decided to to go to Italy for the country of romance and also because the Winter Olympics are on .we had an Italian lunch with Italian music and after talked about St Valentine ,Cupid ,Venus,the masked balls and had a valentines quiz and a tour of Italy and everyone got a rose with their valentines tea

We celebrated Burns day firstly by a visit from the people from St Vincent De Paul and Danny Colin’s recited the Imortal Memory which he had written himself .This got a round of applause and we chatted about Burns then we made the table decorations and set the tables for our Burns lunch which the residents chose and Steven the chef cooked for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. In the afternoon Steven came through with the haggis and David addressed the haggis and another of our ladies read out poetry both got a round of applause and we had lots of traditional sweet treats with our
afternoon tea and of course Irn Bru with a quiz and virtual tour of Scotland

Our Story

Our home has been designed specifically to meet the needs of elderly residents across two sites – Happy Valley and Cairley's Croft, both offering the level of care and support you would expect from Advinia. All our residents are different, with their own life story and experiences. We take time to get to know each one so that we can tailor the care we provide to suit their specific needs. We create a warm, friendly atmosphere where rules and regulations are kept to a minimum for residents and they are encouraged to lead as full and happy a life as possible.
