✨ World Humanist Day | 21st June ✨
To me, being a Humanist means choosing to celebrate the best of humanity — our ability to love, to think freely, to act kindly, and to make meaning in this one precious life we have.

As a celebrant, I get the honour of writing and delivering ceremonies that centre people — their stories, their values, and the love they share.

I’ve stood with couples as they’ve spoken promises shaped not by tradition or religion, but by the strength of their bond.

I’ve shared words about resilience, chosen family, joy found in the everyday, and love that has weathered stormy seas.

I’ve seen how people create deep meaning in their lives through connection, empathy, and shared experiences.

Humanism, for me, is rooted in that same belief: that we don’t need to look beyond this world to find purpose. We find it in each other. In the way we care for those we love. In how we face grief, with honesty and compassion. In how we show up for the big moments and the small, quiet ones in between.

It’s a way of living grounded in humanity, hope, and the idea that every life matters and every story deserves to be heard.

So today, on World Humanist Day, I’m proud to stand alongside a global community who believes in living with kindness, reason, and respect — and who believes in celebrating love, life, and meaning, one ceremony at a time 🤍✨

It blows me away when my newly-wed couples message me only days after their ceremony asking where to leave a review! In the busyness of their honeymoon and marriage bliss Hani and Rowan thought to leave such an amazing review. So thankful for all of my couples and the friendships we build💫 Thank you both so much x

Presenting the new Mr and Mrs Ah-see 💫 On Sunday we had such a magical wedding ceremony to celebrate Hani and Rowan. Hani and Rowan for me, embody the most timeless story of fate. From the moment their paths crossed 2 and a half years ago, they fell in love with each other🫀✨During their ceremony we had an adaption of a Sofreh Aghd, a traditional Persian spread ceremony and a beautiful Scottish handfasting fusing together their heritages 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇮🇷 I wish you both all the love, health and happiness in the world. Thank you for choosing and trusting me to be such a huge part of your special day 🤍

Ride the wave…

Life is all about riding the wave.
Sometimes you’re sailing—gliding effortlessly,
Everything feels light, easy, even fun.

Then a small wave comes,
A little bump—but you’re still steady.

Then comes a bigger wave.
It knocks you off balance.
Your hand brushes the surface of the water,
But you’re still standing.

Maybe you catch a stretch of calm seas,
Start to relax,
Let your guard down a bit.

Then, out of nowhere, a huge wave crashes in.
You’re underwater.
You surface, gasping for air—
Then get pulled under again.
And just when it feels like it won’t end,
The waves calm.

You’re back on top.

My partner and I came up with the phrase “riding the wave” when we were going through my relapse diagnosis with blood cancer. The idea was to not fight the wave, bad things happen that we have no control over but all we can do is control how we react. Don’t fight the inevitable waves, just ride them the best you can.

Now our office is finally complete, an amazing space for all of my ceremony writing and virtual meetings to take place 🌊

It is an absolute honour to tell the stories of a life well lived ✨

Yesterday we said goodbye to an amazing man who loved his family, his dog, his whisky and his ciggies 🐾 🥃 🚬 He lived a life full of happy memories and wasn’t interested in any overly sentimental or soppy words and that’s exactly what his celebration of life reflected.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances at the cemetery we had to return after a few hours to conclude our final farewell. A huge well done to the Co-Operative Funeral care in Cumbernauld for their exceptional care for a lovely family.

For more information and support please message me or contact your local Co-Operative funeral care for a completely unique Celebration of Life for your loved one🤍
