Our page was set up in order to provide an easily accessible source of information and to allow us to update our patients as quickly as possible when things are changing quickly. Please read further to understand it's purpose and uses as well as what to consider if you are one of our patients. Please note that by 'liking’ or ‘following’ our page, it may be possible for others to identify you as a patient of this practice and you should take this into consideration before deciding whether or not to like/follow us. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to respond to any comments posted. This is not a forum for negative comments or complaints. We welcome positivity, which ultimately will help everyone. Please refer to our website for our Comments/Complaints procedure if there is an issue that you would like to talk to us about. We operate a Zero Tolerance Policy for any form of abuse including written and verbal, and any recognised abuse will be dealt with accordingly. Anyone found to be using it in this way will be blocked from the page.

You're eligible for the flu vaccination only if you're:
🔵 aged 65 and over
🔵 aged 18 to 64 with an eligible health condition
🔵 pregnant
🔵 living in a long-stay residential care home or other long-stay care facility
🔵 working in a care home for older adults
🔵 living with someone who has a weakened immune system
🔵 an unpaid or young carer
🔵 a frontline health or social care worker
🔵 a non-frontline NHS worker
🔵 a poultry worker or bird handler
🔵 an asylum seeker living in a home office hotel or B&B accommodation
🔵 experiencing homelessness or substance misuse
You're eligible for the flu and Covid-19 vaccination if you're:

🔵 a resident in a care home for older adults
🔵 an individual aged 6 months and over who is immunosuppressed

This December, our team is taking on a Practice Marathon Challenge, walking and running 26.2 miles each to raise funds for Dementia Scotland.

An overdue welcome to three new faces at Williamwood who joined us in August.

We are delighted to have Dr Scott McKinstry join us as a GP Partner. He has proved to be an invaluable addition to our clinical team.

We also welcome our two fantastic GP Registrars: Dr Summer Muslih rejoins us to complete her specialist training and Dr Rachel Paterson has begun her specialist training at Williamwood.

NHSGGC’s Type 2 Diabetes Hub wants you to know your ‘score’.

There are a number of factors that can increase your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes including your age, weight, ethnicity and family history.

These all combine to let you know your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and it only takes a few minutes to know the score.

We’d like to remind our patients of the ways to request repeat prescriptions:

💻 Online – The easiest way is via Patient Access. Full instructions are available on our website: www.williamwood.co.uk

📞 By Phone – Call our dedicated prescription answer machine on 0141 638 0117, available Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm.

📬 In Person – You can also hand in your repeat prescription slip at the practice. Please tick the items you require on the right-hand side of your prescription.

⏳ Please allow 72 hours (3 working days) for all prescription requests to be processed.

Thank you for helping us ensure safe and timely prescribing.

You may have noticed some recent changes at Williamwood Medical Practice. As well as a new look, we are thrilled to introduce new faces to our team.

Meet Rafael Amador, our highly skilled Advanced Nurse Practitioner. His wealth of experience has already made him an invaluable addition to our clinical team.

We're also excited to announce that Dr Hamish McEwan will be joining us as a GP Partner from April. Dr McEwan brings a wealth of experience and expertise and having worked with him for several months, we are delighted to welcome him as a Partner.
