With the weather warming up and people heading out to the seaside , lochs and rivers this advice from Maritime and Coastguard Agency is worth remembering .. It could save your life

As we enjoy the warm weather over the next few weeks, please remember and share RNLI advice – if you get into trouble in the water, Float To Live.

Tilt your head back with ears submerged 👂

Relax and try to control your breathing 🫁

Move your hands to help you stay afloat ✋

Once you are over the initial shock, call for help or swim to safety 🏊‍♂️

In an emergency call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard 📱

More Bleed 🩸 Control kits installed at and bleed control skills training workshop for staff delivered.

At the Arsenal hub last night delivering bleed🩸control skills training workshop to Arsenal in the Community outreach workers delivering services to young people in the community.

The ZeroResponder Trauma First aid Bleed control kits from Bluekit Medical are not locked in metal cabinets but are easily accessible.

This cohort of staff were trained HOW to use the kit and practiced
•Scene safety
•Identifying life threatening bleeding
•Finding the source of a bleed
•Applying direct pressure to control a bleed
•Wound packing using gauze / haemostatic gauze
•Applying a trauma bandage
•Applying a windlass tourniquet
•Applying a makeshift tourniquet
•Treating a penetrating wound to the chest - stab wound etc
•Applying non occlusive chest seals
•Hypothermia control
•Handover to ambulance service

A big thanks to Yemi Hughes who lost her son Andre to knife crime and who has made it her goal , along with other mothers in London to get accessible bleed control kits into communities and show people how to use them.
