I see the Minor Arcana as a reflection of the different points on our journey that we could be on. The little nudges, opening pathways, nods of encouragement, or warnings away. To me, it’s a powerful tool for guidance, deeply rooted in psychology.
I actually studied psychology formally — completing my Bachelor of Science to better understand people, behaviour, and the forces that shape us. Over the last decade though, no matter how far I ventured into academic theory, I found myself returning to tarot again and again for guidance.
This year, I completed my Master’s degree too, and something I get asked a lot is: “How can someone so logical believe in tarot?”
The truth is, my belief in tarot isn’t about abandoning logic — it’s about expanding it. Tarot is a reflective tool that goes deeper than hypotheses and results. It taps into the aspects of psychology I’m most passionate about: how our thoughts shape our actions, how belief and mindset carve out our path, and how powerful self-awareness can help us change our reality.
Tell me what the Minor Aracana means to you? Or, if y this is the first step in your tarot journey, why don’t you tell me what is coming to mind when you are thinking about it? I popped up a post recently with a gentle introduction to the Minor Arcana but I’ve been considering offering group or one-to-one sessions to learn about Tarot and the Minor Arcana within that. Let me know if you would be interested!
