Jim, Anna & all the family would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who reached out and sent their love as yesterday marked 2 years since Grants passing.

It brings comfort to know Grant's Army are still rallying around us all and reminds us of the huge impact he had in this world. Although his time with us was far too short, he taught us so many lessons in love, laughs, strength and resilience than most experience in a lifetime.

He is so missed everyday, and as his big brother and cousins grow we sadly only get to imagine the mischief he would be getting up to alongside them.

We are so grateful for every message - Jim and Anna have been overwhelmed with lovely messages from so many of you, as you can imagine it is difficult for them to find the words to respond but please be assured they have read and have found comfort in each and every one.

It's that time again......

This year we will once again be taking on the 23 mile Mighty Stride of Glasgows Kiltwalk 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ on Sunday 26th April!

Grant's amazing Daddy, Jim, will walk alongside Margaret, Mark, Maggie, Allan & his great friend of many years, Euan in the Mighty Stride. Once again Grant's wonderful Mummy will take on the 3 mile Wee Wander with his big brother, JJ, and this year his big cousins, Evie & Annie, are also getting the walking shoes out 👟

We signed up to our first Kiltwalk whilst Grant was undergoing his gruelling treatment to show our appreciation to the wonderful Team Jak, and on that first walk, which took place just weeks after Grant's passing, we all agreed we would always Mighty Stride for them 🩵 They have continued to show us all so much love, strength & support - with Jim, Anna and JJ spending the weekend at their annual Angel Retreat just a couple of months ago. We will never be able to truly thank everyone at Team Jak for all they done for Grant and continue to do for Jim, Anna, JJ and the family, so us sacrificing some toe nails once in a while to raise vital funds and awareness hopefully will go some of the way to show our gratitude.

Just under 7 weeks to go! Here's some photos from last year - some looking fresh some not so much 😅

😍CUTENESS ALERT😍

Is there anything cuter than the gorgeous Cooper proudly showing off his new Grant's Grapple bear and his Tshirt from the Kindness Range??

Obsessed with these photos sent from Coopers Mummy. She's been telling him all about Grant and their shared love of dinosaurs 🥰 As you can see Bear even made the cut for bedtime snuggles 🥹

Thank you so much to Cooper, and to his Mummy and Daddy for all their support to the family and to Grant's Grapple 💙and for allowing us to share these gorgeous photos.

Have a look at all the range at https://grantsgrapple.catchflymerch.com/

Dear Grant,

Today you are 4 years old and I can say without a doubt you would have been beautiful. Your hair which was coming in dark would have had an auburn tint. Thick and unruly like your dad's, with his big brown eyes. You would have had my softer cheeks and nose. I have no doubt the contrast between you alongside JJs light features would have been an amazing sight. I'm also sure you would have a kind, fun, relaxed personality to go alongside it, along with a stubborn streak to have matched mine and your father's.

I don't know what I believe happens after we pass but I do know and get comfort from the fact you are being looked after by those in the family who left this Earth before you and by some who have recently joined you (though maybe you are helping them navigate their new journey). What I do know is that because of you we have handed over 100 vests to children who are struggling. We've given around £1600 in lidl vouchers to help their families and we have provided 38 tshirts (two of which donated via the website) to those finishing/going on to the next steps of their treatment. That's pretty awesome.

Thank you my sweet Grant, your light keeps inspiring kindness in ways your tiny hands never got to.

Love, Your Mummy

👕 Merch Monday👕

This week we're shining the light on our Kindness Collection.

I love the rainbow design in 'Choose Kindness' as the rainbow is part of the logo for Schiehallion ward 🌈
A few names also spring to mind that would suit Wild Child 👀😂

Which is your favourite?? You can see the whole collection at https://grantsgrapple.catchflymerch.com/page/kindness-collection

Let us know what you think! 💙🦖🦕

🎉🥳EXCITING NEWS ALERT🥳🎉

We did say that we would have amazing news to share, and we're now happy to be able to share it. 😃😃

We've again been working with our amazingly talented Maggie Cruise and her equally gifted daughter Sacha .

Sacha has designed several ranges for us to market on our new merchandise website, which Maggie has supported us to develop. (I use the term 'supported' very loosely- Maggie more or less built the site herself! ) The ranges include- 'Grant's Collection', the 'Kindness Collection' , the 'Fundraisers' Range' and the 'I Rang The Bell' T Shirts (We previously posted details about the 'I Rang The Bell' T Shirts).

The products have been developed as a way to help us raise funds for Grant's Grapple to ensure that we can continue to support children and their families who are being treated with cancer. Within the collections, we wanted products that would help to keep Grant's memory alive. In addition, we wanted a 'Kindness Collection' as, during Grant's illness, we were shown numerous great acts of kindness, which we will never forget. Wee Grant's legacy was to leave us all appreciating the kindness and goodness of people more than we had done when he entered this world.❤️❤️❤️

As well as being able to buy our merchandise, you can also donate 'I Rang The Bell' T Shirts, which will be delivered direct to the Hospital. Each child will be given a T Shirt to commemorate the important day that they signalled the end of their treatment by 'Ringing The Bell'.🛎🛎🛎

Although Maggie and Sacha are members of our family, they have gone above and beyond what could reasonably have been expected of them without expecting anything in return. Their reward has been just knowing that they are supporting what we are trying to achieve in Grant's name. We'd like to publicly thank them. 💕💕💕

I've attached some photos of the products below. You can access our website at https://grantsgrapple.catchflymerch.com

🔔 We have some news 🔔

As you all know Grant's Grapple started with the initial aim to provide central line vests to the amazing children being cared for in Schiehallion ward at Glasgow Children's Hospital. Due to all your overwhelming support and fundraising we have also now been providing a £50 supermarket voucher to all newly diagnosed children and their family (of which a second batch was delivered to the hospital in September).

We are proud to now add something else to that list 😀 Schiehallion reached out as they no longer had access to tshirts for children who were going to "Ring the Bell" to signify the end of their cancer treatment, and asked if this is something we would be in a position to support.

Knowing how difficult a journey the kids and their families have gone through to get to the end of treatment, we wanted to do all we could to help celebrate this milestone.

We knew we needed the pro's - once again Maggie at Catchfly and Sacha at Cruise Designs jumped at the chance to help us. They have designed and created these fabulous "I Rang the Bell" tshirts, with 36 delivered to the hospital on Friday. The poem was a request of the hospital as this was what they used previously. We could not have done any of this without them, they have put in so much time and effort to make sure everything is perfect - which I'm sure you'll agree, they are!

We will have more exciting news soon of how you can support our "I Rang the Bell" tshirts, we should be able to share this with you in the coming days.

Once again, thank you all for your unwavering support 🦕 🦖

Unbelievable effort Gary!! We are all beyond proud that you are now an Ultramarathonner!! 50 gruelling miles and 13 hours through the Ochil hills, such an achievement and we cannot thank you enough for all your training, support and grit that brought you over that finishing line today - all while more than doubling your fundraising target! Undoubtedly you wouldn't have got over the line if it wasn't for your lovely wife Shonagh and your beautiful boy, again a massive thanks to Shonagh for everything leading up to today!

We have another huge Thank You to go to Maggie & Sacha at Catchfly Merchandise who designed and created Ochil Ultra Team Grant Tshirts for Gary, Shonagh and Lewis - they have such an eye for detail and spent lots of time making sure they were perfect, which I'm sure you'll agree they are! If you have a club, venue, or an idea for your own merch store have a look at www.catchflymerch.com - they will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. We will also have exciting Grant's Grapple news with Catchfly coming soon.

These posts don't allow videos so will add videos to the comments of this post of Gary coming over the finish line. Hope you get lots of well deserved rest over the next few days Gary and got the McDonald's you had been dreaming of!

Once again, Thank You for everything and WELL DONE, YOU ARE AN ULTRA RUNNER!!!

An early start this morning for Gary Kane taking on the Ochil Ultra 50 miles today from Stirling to Perth! Gary & Shonagh have been special friends of Jim & Anna's for so many years, which makes it all the more special that he has chosen to raise money for Grant's Grapple, with his current total sitting at an amazing £820!

Lovely to see so many of Gary's family and friends out to cheer him over the start line at Stirling Uni this morning, but I think we can all agree who his biggest and cutest supporter is - won't be long until he's running alongside his Daddy!

We'll keep you updated on his progress over the day, and you can see Gary's fundraising efforts on his Just Giving Page https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/gary-kane-4?utm_medium=CR&utm_source=CL&fbclid=Iwb21leANEZhljbGNrA0RmDmV4dG4DYWVtAjExAAEeRgTkLY9YIY-uvi268dLhl63lBpt7xpxoETVRw-jt49ihSIHqATgnbTeD2ZA_aem_5tAkJii9p0OAHHJ_97VX7Q

We are super proud of our niece Lesley-Anne and her pals, Bryony, Lisa, Adam and Nathan. These amazing young folk completed the Mighty Stroll at Edinburgh Kilt Walk yesterday to raise money for Grant's Grapple. This was all the more astonishing, considering that Lesley-Anne is due to give birth to a beautiful baby boy in less than 4 weeks!!!. You're all stars! And don't you look great in your Grant's Grapple T Shirts? So pretty in pink 💗 (Also a big shout out to Lesley-Anne's partner Charlie, who also went over the line- that's the way to do it Charlie 😅😅😅)
