Thinking about starting a counselling or psychotherapy Diploma?

You might be feeling:
✨ Excited
✨ Unsure
✨ Wondering if you’re really ready

The truth is — how you start your training matters.

Research shows that students who feel prepared and confident from the outset are more likely to:
✔️ engage fully
✔️ manage challenges
✔️ succeed in their studies

That’s exactly why we’ve created the GCTC Summer School 2026 — a one-week preparatory programme designed to help you begin your Diploma feeling:
✔️ Confident
✔️ Clear on expectations
✔️ Ready for both the academic and personal journey

Across the week, you’ll build:
🧠 Academic skills (writing, reflection, structure)
💬 Core counselling skills
🔍 Self-awareness & use of self
👩⚕️ Understanding of placements, supervision & client work

This is about starting your training one step ahead — not catching up as you go.

Stress Awareness Month 🤍 + National Pet Day 🐾

Sometimes support doesn’t need words.

Research shows that spending time with animals can lower cortisol (our stress hormone), increase oxytocin (linked to calm and connection), and help regulate our nervous system.

In simple terms… pets can help us feel safer, calmer, and less alone.

At Glasgow Cognitive Therapy Centre, we often talk about small, consistent ways to support your wellbeing — and for many people, that includes the quiet comfort of a pet beside them.

Today, we’re sharing some of our team’s own emotional support companions 🐶🐱

Take a moment today to pause, breathe… and maybe give your pet a little extra cuddle 🤍

If you’re needing more support, we’re here.
