Good morning! Sometimes we have to cut things away. This is Lavender from a very leggy plant that's been in the medicine garden for some time but it's reached the end of its time. More woody than leafy, I've trimmed the new leaves off to dry and make smudge, and took some cuttings to propagate before digging it out.

Sometimes it's hard to let some things go that have been in your life a while. They may even have become the habits of your life. But - just like this Lavender - there is always an opportunity to create new growth from old experiences that have become outworn and served their purpose.

4 years ago...this was such a wonderful experience during a couple of days away in the middle of rural Scotland to visit Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery and just be where very little else was.

Where I was staying was a working farm cottage with sheep, horses, cockerels, hens, pheasants, woodpeckers and joyous lambs! Here I'm bottle feeding two Hebridean lambs they were taking care of. These young souls were abandoned by their mother, a very young ewe who was too young for lambs - a ram got into the field by accident and, well...

It's quite common for young ewes to abandon their lambs when they are only very young themselves. This pair - a boy and a girl (you can just see the little boy's two sets of horns beginning to grow) were so lovely - and hungry! Their adopted mama, who had just had a lamb of her own, was so protective. They were in very good hands.

I could have done this all day.
