ir/regular | OPENS TODAY

A solo exhibition by Grant Glennie.

“I see the exhibition and artworks in ir/regular existing somewhere between the opposites of regular and irregular. It’s a personal exploration of the interconnected themes of my lived experience of mental health, art therapy, medication, side effects, illusions and funding. I have recently been painting, which is a relatively new medium for me, though I’ve retained a rule based and systems approach.” – Grant Glennie

Glennie is a member of the Neuk Collective and Outside In.

This exhibition is part of the , 2025.

The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF) takes place from 20 October to 9 November 2025, exploring the theme of ‘Comfort & Disturb’.

Led by the Mental Health Foundation, the festival is a platform for everyone to create and share art inspired by mental health, engaging audiences and participants in regions across Scotland.

' I AM HERE' by Ryan Jago

Ryan's self portrait celebrates his commitment to his vegetable garden, the discipline of the gym, and his creativity through painting. Together these elements illustrate the value he places on health, expression and everyday inspiration.

This year's theme for Scottish Learning Disability Week, 'I am Here', is the inspiration behind the self-portrait poster exhibition which is currently on show at until the end of the month.

Four Aspire artists, John McNaught, Cameron Morgan, Jonathan McKinstry and Ryan Jago, took part in a series of workshops with Project Ability tutor Jason.

Today isn’t just all about the ceramics, the gallery walls are filled with brilliant, colourful embroideries, each celebrating a cake or sweet treat.

Cameron first started embroidering a few years ago for a joint textiles exhibition and since then he has continued refining his practice. When we first discussed a pop up shop with Cameron to showcase his ceramics, he immediately had the idea of working on embroideries to go alongside them.

Each embroidery takes Cameron many, many hours to complete, often working across multiple days to finish just one piece. He worked on these artworks mostly at home as he enjoys always having a project on the go!

Each embroidery is £180 and is a truly unique piece of art for your wall.
