St Andrew's First Aid

St Andrew's First Aid St Andrew's First Aid is Scotland's dedicated first aid charity.
(489)

We provide first aid training for every need, including First Aid at Work courses for those who need to comply with health and safety requirements and a range of community based courses for members of the public which give the knowledge and confidence to deal with life's little - and big - emergencies. As the official first aid organisation for some of Scotland's most exciting events like T in the Park, we are known for consistently delivering the highest standards of first aid cover and training. This site is not for booking event cover or first aid courses and is only monitored during office hours - not weekends.

✨ Behind the scenes at Hampden - how cool!✨

Here we have the "scoop" if you pardon the pun, about what our volunteers got up to in their training this week.

When they are not out and about at events across Scotland, many of them are at training nights like this one refreshing their skills so that they are always prepared for any type of emergency and up to date to the highest quality. All of this is done in their own free time, how amazing🥹

Big thanks to our wonderful volunteers Nicky, Stephen & Paula for leading this week’s “field training session” – our volunteers are now prepped and we’ve now got fresh field responders ready to go at Hampden Park matches!

Well done team – you all smashed it! 🙌💙

🚨 Learn CPR & Help Save Lives – Restart a Heart Live! 🚨

On Wednesday 1 October 2025, join thousands across the UK for Restart a Heart Live – a free, live-streamed YouTube event where anyone can learn lifesaving CPR. St Andrew's First Aid is proud to support Save A Life For Scotland & this amazing event!💓

✅ When? Morning and afternoon sessions!
✅ Where? Anywhere with an internet connection – home, school, workplace
✅ What you need: Just a cushion, bag or rolled-up coat. No special kit required!

Every year over 40,000 people in the UK suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, yet only 1 in 10 survive. Quick CPR can double the chance of survival.

👉 Register now at www.restartaheart.live

You’ll receive the viewing link and simple instructions before the big day.

Let’s come together as a nation to learn a skill that saves lives.

A huge thank you to our volunteers who were out and about this weekend, from the roar of the football at Ibrox to the excitement of Race Days at Hamilton Park! (and everywhere else in between!)

Their smiles, energy, and commitment to keeping everyone safe make such a difference. 💙

For some, it was even their very first day volunteering and what a brilliant start! We’re so grateful for each and every one of you. 🙌✨

We’re proud to continue supporting The UK Sepsis Trust and their Sepsis Savvy campaign this year for World Sepsis Day 2025. We’ve been working with them since 2023 to raise awareness of this life-threatening condition.

👉 What is sepsis?

Sepsis happens when the body’s response to an infection spirals out of control and starts damaging its own tissues and organs. It can affect anyone, at any age.

Around 245,000 people are affected by sepsis in the UK every year and sadly, 48,000 lives are lost. The earlier it’s spotted and treated, the better the outcome.

🩹 Sepsis awareness is covered in all of our First Aid Courses and can also be included in our Community Talks & Demos — because knowing the signs really can save lives.

We’re proud to back this campaign and spread awareness in our communities. Together, we can help more people become Sepsis Savvy, read more about the campaign here: https://sepsistrust.org/support-us/campaigns/sepsis-savvy/🙌

A bunch of superstars! ✨💫⭐

HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteers for all their hard work recently (and always!)

You’ve been out and about at some fantastic places — giving a talk and demo at Deaf Blind Scotland (such a wonderful group of people!), enjoying a great few days at the Cowal Highland Gathering, rocking along at Rockore Music Festival 2025 in Lochore Meadows Country Park, and finishing off with a very busy but lovely day at Cowcaddens Fire Station.

We were made to feel so welcome everywhere we went and met some amazing people!🙌 Thank you will never be enough for all you do for St Andrew's First Aid, you are the best of the best and thank you to all out this weekend to!💙

🎉Another group of Lifesavers Trained by Us!

Over the past few days, this fantastic team completed their First Aid course led by our Senior Trainer & Assessor, Tony – and the feedback has been nothing short of amazing. 👏 Tony made sure everyone felt confident, supported, and ready to put their new skills into action.

Not only did this group learn vital First Aid skills, but they also worked together, shared experiences, and left the course knowing that they now have the power to make a real difference in their day to day lives. 🌟

What a great bunch of people – we’re delighted to see their passion for helping others!

💡 If you’ve ever thought about learning First Aid, now is the perfect time. Whether at home, work, or out in the community, your knowledge could save a life.
