Proud as a Pigeon (if you pardon the pun!) 🐦

A special shoutout to our fantastic volunteers Alex and Kyle, who were on duty at Rutherglen Town Hall celebrating Rutherglen 900, and even grabbed a photo with the event mascot! How cute!

The evening was made even more meaningful when Kyle’s mum was performing in the choir. ❤️

She said how safe she felt knowing Alex and Kyle were on duty, and how proud she was of them both, a lovely reminder of the reassurance and confidence our volunteers bring, not just to the public but to their own families too.

It was such a privilege for them to be part of something so special in the local community. Events like this are what volunteering is all about, supporting people, celebrating milestones, and being right at the heart of it all.

Well done to you both and thank you for all that you do for us❤🥹

Good News Friday! 🌟

A huge congratulations to our amazing East Kilbride volunteer, Carleen Coll, who has successfully interviewed for an exciting new role with NHS Lanarkshire! 👏

Carleen’s new day job will see her stepping into a Band 7 Occupational Therapist Advanced Practitioner position, an incredible achievement and a true reflection of her dedication, skill and compassion.

What makes this even more special is that alongside her professional success, Carleen continues to give back in the most generous way.

In her spare time, she volunteers hundreds of hours each year at events big and small across Glasgow and beyond. Her commitment, energy and kindness make a real difference to so many people in our communities.

We are incredibly proud of Carleen and so grateful for everything she brings to our team. 💛

Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved success! 🎉👏

A huge thank you to Diane from the Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance - SCAA for spending her Monday evening with our Youth Groups and Queen Street Company.

We are so grateful that you took the time to come along and share more about the incredible, life-saving work the charity does across Scotland. It was such an inspiring and informative evening for everyone who attended.

Hearing about the vital role the air ambulance plays in responding to emergencies, especially in remote and rural areas, really helped our young people understand just how important this service is.

The Scottish Air Ambulance Charity works tirelessly to ensure that critically ill and injured patients can receive rapid access to emergency care, wherever they are. Quite simply, their work saves lives.

Thank you again, Diane, for such a fantastic evening. We truly appreciate you giving up your time to educate and inspire us all. 🚁💛

Every minute matters in a cardiac arrest.

Every community matters too.

New Scottish data shows defibrillator access and survival are lowest where need is highest.

Targeted investment, local skills and confident bystanders save lives.

A standing ovation for teamwork!🎶🎭✨

Our Volunteers had an amazing and productive time refreshing their knowledge at The Usher Hall familiarisation evening last week.

Organised by venue management and our amazing volunteer Kirsty Russell, Event Co-ordinator in Edinburgh and also Commandant at West Lothian company, who jointly hosted First Aiders from St Andrew’s First Aid and staff and volunteers from the Usher Hall.

The evening included a tour of the venue, scenario sessions and some moving and handling practice, supported by one of our trainer and assessors Vince Bowles.

Sessions like these help our teams work more effectively together when responding to First Aid incidents during performance events, ensuring the highest and most professional level of care is given to everyone we help. They are crucial to keep the best practice and standards.

What a brilliant night team and a massive thank you to all who attended! ❤😀
