We provide first aid training for every need, including First Aid at Work courses for those who need to comply with health and safety requirements and a range of community based courses for members of the public which give the knowledge and confidence to deal with life's little - and big - emergencies. As the official first aid organisation for some of Scotland's most exciting events like T in the Park, we are known for consistently delivering the highest standards of first aid cover and training. This site is not for booking event cover or first aid courses and is only monitored during office hours - not weekends.

A standing ovation for teamwork!🎶🎭✨

Our Volunteers had an amazing and productive time refreshing their knowledge at The Usher Hall familiarisation evening last week.

Organised by venue management and our amazing volunteer Kirsty Russell, Event Co-ordinator in Edinburgh and also Commandant at West Lothian company, who jointly hosted First Aiders from St Andrew’s First Aid and staff and volunteers from the Usher Hall.

The evening included a tour of the venue, scenario sessions and some moving and handling practice, supported by one of our trainer and assessors Vince Bowles.

Sessions like these help our teams work more effectively together when responding to First Aid incidents during performance events, ensuring the highest and most professional level of care is given to everyone we help. They are crucial to keep the best practice and standards.

What a brilliant night team and a massive thank you to all who attended! ❤😀

What a brilliant day at Ibrox for our Familiarisation Day! 🙌

It was great to see so many people getting involved, sharing experiences and learning something new throughout the day.

A massive thanks to Angie, James, Ged, Alex, Shaun, Vikki W and Susan who played a key role in making the day run smoothly, from planning and workshops to leading the stadium tours, you guys are just brilliant!👏

Members from our staff team were also in attendance Bonni from the Events Team, alongside our newest team members David and Lisa, who enjoyed meeting volunteers, joining the sessions and taking part in the final scenario of the day!

An amazing day all round and thank you everyone for your time & dedication❤

We hope you all have a safe, happy and super-fabulous day.

A very special shout-out to our incredible volunteers 💚 who have gone above and beyond this festive season, covering everything from pantos and Christmas fayres to football matches, light switch-ons and so much more, all while helping to keep Scotland safe.

Thank you for every hour you give, not just at Christmas time but throughout the year and always. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

Last Sunday was one that will live long in the memory for Paisley and everyone connected to St Mirren!⚽

We were immensely proud that St Andrew’s First Aid could play a part in such a landmark occasion.

As St Mirren rose to the challenge and claimed the Premier Sports Cup at Hampden Park, our volunteers were on hand throughout the stadium and at pitch side, quietly supporting the occasion and helping to keep supporters and players safe during an unforgettable afternoon.

The celebrations continued back home, with the open-top bus tour through Paisley bringing the community together as the Saints shared their cup success with a sea of black and white! Our volunteers were there to keep the crowd safe and sound.

Congratulations to Stephen Robinson and the entire St Mirren squad on an outstanding 3–1 victory🏆

It was a privilege for us to be part of such a historic and proud moment. We are proud to be the St Mirren first aid cover always and to have been involved!❤️

St Mirren Cup Celebrations Snapshots!

Supported by Inverclyde & Renfrewshire Corps Companies 🏆🎉

At very short notice, our fantastic volunteers stepped up to support St Mirren’s cup celebrations in Paisley town centre on Sunday Night! 🙌

Some travelled straight from Hampden after the final whistle, redeploying to Paisley to help keep the celebrations safe and running smoothly.

While they missed seeing the cup lifted at Hampden, they were there to see the team proudly raise it at home in Paisley town centre 🏆

It was a brilliant night of celebrations and we were delighted to have been part of them, thank you to every volunteer who gave their time to support the event, you are all just the very best!!👏💫

Day 3 of St Andrew's First Aid 12 Days of Christmas!🎅🏻🎄☃

Christmas clutter, spilled drinks, and excited children can make floors a hazard.

Prevention:

❤Keep walkways clear of toys, cables, decorations.

❤Clean up spills immediately.

❤Ensure stairways are well lit.

If someone falls:

⭐Don’t move them if you suspect a back/neck injury.

⭐For sprains, use R.I.C.E: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.

Day 2 of St Andrew's First Aid 12 Days of Christmas! 🎅🏼🎁❄️

Knives, graters, and even “enthusiastic” wrapping-paper tearing cause a lot of minor injuries. Even a small cut can ruin the Christmas spirit!

What to do if you or someone ends up with a cut injury:

❤Apply pressure with a clean cloth to stop bleeding.

❤Rinse the wound under running water.

❤Dry and cover with a sterile plaster or dressing.

❤If bleeding won’t stop after 10 minutes, seek medical help.

Day 1 of St Andrew's First Aid 12 Days of Christmas!🎅🏻🎄☃

The festive period can be filled with joy and fun, but also some nasty burns.

Burns From Cooking, Ovens & Candles are more common over Christmas due to hot pans, spilt gravy, and open flames.

What to do if a burn incident occurs:

❤Cool the burn under cool running water for at least 20 minutes.

❤Remove jewellery and tight clothing quickly before swelling starts. Do not remove stuck clothing: If clothing is melted, molten, or firmly adherent to the wound, leave it in place for medical staff to remove.

❤Do NOT apply ice, butter, cream, or toothpaste.

❤Cover with cling film or a clean non-fluffy cloth.

❤Seek medical help if the burn is large, blistering, or causing extreme pain.
