Thomas worked for over thirty years in the West of Scotland in Education and Social Services and draws upon his considerable and valuable experience and understands the unique challenges faced by individuals in those professions. Constant reorganisations to accommodate budget cuts rather than improve services, unsympathetic management, ongoing staff cuts and increased work loads and being underpaid were all too common then and even more so today. Thomas readily admits during his Social Work and Education years to, from time to time, over indulging in alcohol and was that yo-yo, faddy dieter, was a smoker(now ex) and suffered anxiety and stress at work and mild depression partly due to imposter syndrome. Thomas's personal professional experience gave him the motivation, upon retirement, to retrain in Hypnotherapy to help others overcome such personal challenges and live more fulfilling lives. That personal experience and professional background combine to form a unique approach to assist those in the caring professions seeking relief from stress and anxiety ( and other personal issues). Thomas firmly believes in his clients capacity for change and that true transformation is possible through Hypnotherapy having empowered many clients to reclaim their lives from the debilitating effects of stress and anxiety, giving them the freedom to sustain consistent good mental health. Thomas practises psychotherapy/ hypnotherapy, EMDR, reiki and mindfulness with clients and has found that these a powerful tools which can help tackle and manage personal issues. Thomas's approach is warm, non judgemental and compassionate allowing the client to express their inner feeling thoughts and challenges. Sessions are tailor made to the client needs, harnessing, through hypnosis, the client's innate ability to break up the dark clouds of stress and anxiety. By addressing the root cause of these issues he assists clients in developing healthier coping mechanisms, boosting self esteem and fostering a sense of empowerment.
