KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA, ARE YOU READY?

Professor Abubakar Yaro, representing AHRO Institute, will undertake an official academic and research collaboration visit to Saudi Arabia from 10 to 17 May 2026.
The visit forms part of AHRO Institute’s strategic internationalization agenda aimed at strengthening global partnerships in medical education, public health research, and capacity development. During the mission, high-level engagements will be held with universities, teaching hospitals, research centers, and professional bodies to explore collaborative opportunities in:
• Joint research in tropical medicine, epidemiology, and global health
• Faculty and student exchange programmes
• Development of collaborative postgraduate training and residency pathways
• Establishment of joint conferences, workshops, and scientific publications
• Knowledge transfer in health systems innovation and digital health solutions
The visit will also provide a platform to initiate institutional Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) designed to foster long-term cooperation between AHRO Institute and leading Saudi academic and healthcare institutions.
This engagement reflects AHRO Institute’s commitment to building cross-continental partnerships that advance research excellence, strengthen workforce development, and contribute to addressing shared global health challenges.

Stevenage, UK – [18/02/2026] – AHRO Institute is proud to announce that a consortium led by the Vis Viva Pharma Ltd has secured £2.5 million in funding to support the construction of the AHRO Teaching Hospital in Stevenage, UK, a landmark project aimed at strengthening clinical training, research excellence, promoting the advancement of global health.
The funding marks a significant milestone in AHRO Institute’s long-term strategic vision to integrate research, education, and clinical services under one comprehensive academic health system. The proposed AHRO Teaching Hospital will serve as a center of excellence for medical education, translational research, and specialized healthcare services, with a strong focus on tropical medicine and public health.
The consortium brings together academic partners, health sector stakeholders, philanthropic contributors, and international collaborators committed to advancing equitable healthcare systems and capacity development. The £2.5 million investment will fund the first phase of construction, including core clinical infrastructure, teaching facilities, research laboratories, and simulation training units.
Speaking on the achievement, Prof. Abubakar Yaro, Chief Scientific Officer of AHRO Institute who led the negotiation, stated:

The Annals of Tropical Medicine & Public Health (ATMPH) is pleased to announce the official restart and relaunch of the journal, reaffirming its commitment to advancing high-quality, peer-reviewed research in tropical medicine, public health, and global health systems.
Originally established to serve as a platform for rigorous scientific discourse, ATMPH is being revitalized with a renewed vision: to support evidence-based research that addresses the most pressing health challenges affecting low- and middle-income countries, particularly in tropical and resource-limited settings.
The relaunched journal will publish original research articles, systematic reviews, short communications, case studies, and policy analyses across a broad range of disciplines, including infectious and non-communicable diseases, epidemiology, environmental and occupational health, health systems strengthening, maternal and child health, and emerging global health threats.
