PCOS is being renamed PMOS —>
Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome
to better reflect the true nature of the condition.

For years, the name ‘Polycystic O***y Syndrome’has been misleading. Many women with PCOS don’t actually have ovarian cysts, and the condition involves far more than the ovaries alone.

It’s a complex hormonal, endocrine and metabolic condition that can affect many areas of health.

The proposed name change follows years of global research and collaboration with women living with the condition, healthcare professionals and patient organisations.

Support for the change is strong, with many believing it could improve:

✨ awareness
✨ earlier diagnosis
✨ understanding
✨ access to better care
✨ future research and funding

There will be a transition period where both PCOS and PMOS are used while awareness grows.

Most importantly, women living with the condition helped drive this change and their voices have been central to the conversation ❤️

Today marks 2 years of my menopause clinic.

I set this up to give women something that was often missing.

Time to talk.
To feel heard.
To feel hopeful.
To understand what’s happening in their bodies and what can be done to help.

This week alone has been a reminder of that.

Not every consultation is straightforward.
It’s not just about prescribing HRT and moving on.

It’s about listening.
Understanding.
Creating a space where women feel comfortable enough to talk, to ask questions and sometimes to cry.

Even the questions they’ve felt too embarrassed to ask before.

Not here.

I’m fiercely passionate about helping women navigate this stage of life with the right support, information and care.

Thank you to every woman who has trusted me over the past two years.

It’s a privilege to do this work.

The manosphere might be trending.

But women’s health has been quietly dismissed for years.

‘Just stress’
‘Just ageing’
‘Just part of being a woman’

No.

Women are now comparing notes.
Asking better questions.
Refusing to be brushed off.

And expecting more from the conversations around their health.

This is the menosphere 💪🏽

And it’s long overdue.

‘Just being a woman’ is not a diagnosis.

Misophonia in menopause is very real.

If someone eating carrots on a train suddenly feels like a personal attack…
you’re not imagining it.

You’re not dramatic.
You’re not irrational.
And you’re definitely not alone!

Hormonal changes in midlife can heighten sensory sensitivity.
Small noises can feel enormous.

If you’ve noticed yourself feeling more reactive lately, there can be a reason for it.

And yes, I believe the public consumption of carrots should be banned, unless you are, in fact, a horse.

Midlife is wild.
Let’s talk about it 💛

My clinic advert is now live on STV.

A reminder of how far menopause care has come and how important this work is.

Midlife women deserve thoughtful, informed care.
Menopause shouldn’t be whispered about.
It should be discussed, understood and properly supported.

Grateful to be part of that shift in improving women’s health.

DONT SUFFER IN SILENCE!
Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) is common, under-diagnosed, and very treatable.

Symptoms can include:
• Vaginal dryness or burning
• Pain with s*x
• Recurrent UTIs
• Urinary urgency or irritation

These changes happen because oestrogen levels fall, affecting the vaginal and urinary tissues — making them thinner, drier, and more sensitive.

💡 One of the most effective treatments?
👉 Vaginal oestrogen

Unlike systemic HRT, vaginal oestrogen is low-dose and works locally, helping to:
✔ Restore tissue health
✔ Improve comfort and lubrication
✔ Reduce UTIs
✔ Make s*x comfortable again

And yes - for most women, it’s safe, effective, and can be used long-term (even if you’re not on HRT).

If you’ve been told to “just use lubricant” or “put up with it” you deserve better information.

✨ Menopause care should include vaginal health.

Save this post, share it with someone who needs it, and speak to a healthcare professional if these symptoms sound familiar.

Black Box Removal: What It Means for Women in the UK

There’s been a lot of discussion about this online, so here’s what it means for us in the UK 🇬🇧.

Big news from the U.S. 🇺🇸 this week is that the FDA has announced it’s removing the long-standing Black Box warnings from HRT.

It’s a huge step forward for women’s health there, finally reflecting what the evidence has shown for years- that
HRT is safe and effective for most women when prescribed appropriately.

Here in the UK, those warnings were never applied.
Our menopause care already follows trusted, evidence-based guidance from NICE and the British Menopause Society (BMS), with medicines regulated by the MHRA and approved for NHS use in Scotland by the SMC.

So while this update marks an important milestone in the U.S., it’s also a reassuring reminder that women here already benefit from modern, personalised, and well-regulated HRT treatment 💛

Thinking about HRT but not sure where to start?

There’s so much information (and misinformation) out there, but understanding the basics can really help you make sense of your options.

Here are 5 things you should know about HRT — just some simple facts to get you started 💛

There’s obviously lots more to know, but it’s a good place to begin.

Trick or Treatment?
Menopause doesn’t need magic — it needs care that works.
