After a week of connecting with the sangha beyond Glasgow, we return to Mysore practice at the Arlington Baths.

Yoga (Mysore) | LIVE |
Tuesdays, 07.15 – 09.00
Thursdays, 07.15 – 09.00

Mysore is a form of assisted self-practice. Contrary to what you might think, complete beginners to yoga are very welcome. In fact, I think it is the best way to start your yoga journey!

It is the most wonderful practice I know because it allows you to listen and respect what is going on with you in your body, mind, breath and life. It also allows you to become autonomous, responsible and restores the mind-body connection we are so in need of tending.

– You can work at your pace and level
– You receive hands on adjustment and assistance (like the one in the picture, which I promise feels very good!)
– You get individual help, tailored to what you need
– You understand your breath pattern and the fluidity of the sequencing, which helps you feel alive
– You experience the mind and body connection on a deeper level
– You spend the time you need in the postures, beginning to develop a personal practice you can take anywhere
– You can enjoy the freedom that this approach offers
– You benefit from the energy of the group, which intensifies the breath movement synchronicity
– It helps you to maintain your focus and develop the mental and meditative aspects of the practice
– You can start at any time during the time slot so long as you finish by the end time.

This is the week where I open my yoga classes beyond the studio and into the whole world through zoom.

The focus is the breath, as on Tuesday 24 we gather for pranayama at 7.15am UK time, listening attentively to the subtleties of the breath. On Thursday 26, I will count a full primary series and we will breathe together in movement.

Come to be bathed in the power of working together with a sincere group. The boost to your wellbeing will be noticeable and your soul will thank you for letting it express itself.

I am back home, ready and inspired to teach my monthly pranayama class on Tuesday 8 November at 7.15am UK time. We will go deeper into the subtle breath, choosing practices that will support the clear change in the weather and the turn towards the darker and colder conditions of winter. It will boost your mood, your immunity and your energy! 🫁🫀
And on Thursday, Sanskrit counted led primary series. We will feel the power of a community breathing and moving as one.
Who said the start of November could be dull? Not me! Join me and a lovely bunch of practitioners!

I teach a lovely Mysore style yoga class every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.15am at the Arlington Baths in Glasgow.
Mysore style means you work at your own pace, in a group, under guidance. This means that you can turn up a little later than the advertised time (so long as you finish by 9am), you get the benefits of individual teaching in a group setting, you share the space with other practitioners and learn from them, and you work at your own pace and with whatever arises on the day.
It is a different style of teaching from what most people think a yoga class is, but the feedback I get from this who have tried it is: ‘I don’t know how I ever worked in any other way’.
Everyone is welcome, and that is the beauty of it. There is space for complete beginners who have never done yoga, those coming from different styles, and regular practitioners. We have all learned (and keep learning) in this way. It will change your relationship to your mind, body and breath!

We are offering Free morning Community Self-Practice for the next couple of weeks, Monday to Friday from 7.15am. Come and share space with us and learn to follow your own practice in a supportive group. Best of both worlds! You can practice whatever you want (does not have to be yoga, you could write or draw too). If you want to learn the ashtanga sequence I do in my classes I have cheat sheets to help you. After we have all finished, we usually have a coffee, chat and Q&As if anything comes up from your practice. Come and join us, what’s not to like? To get the zoom link, sign up through https://yogamovesglasgow.co.uk/timetable/

My monthly breath class is on this Thursday 4 February, 7.15-8.30. We will focus on cultivating stillness to sense more accurately, to receive insight, to notice, to nurture and to contemplate the bountiful nature inside us, as is reflected in the breath. 🏔🌞🌿🌳🕊🌊💨

Classes at the studio are going really well and it is such a pleasure to see many of you are back! Next week is the first pranayama session of the year. What a time to be practicing breath!

This is the first of the special events we have planned for you next week!

Join Laura on Zoom for a Pranayama session next Thursday 1 October, 7.15-8.30am (instead of the usual Yoga Led into Mysore class).

At this time of dis-ease, fear and uncertainty, pranayama is a true gift to keep us healthy, calm and grounded through our own breath. This is the most beautiful practice and Laura has prepared a session that will support both complete beginners and seasoned practitioners with a personal pranayama practice. Join us to feel the delight and magic you hold within you!

Pranayama is a yoga technique to enhance, deepen and control the breath through simple preparations and exercises. These sessions will provide the foundations for a breathing practice that is applied to your regular ashtanga yoga postures, taking them to the next level. The breath and the mind are intimately linked so by accessing one you will also be able to control the other. The practice works at a physical, mental, emotional and energetic level, nourishing them all.

I am back teaching online from 15 September and the wonderful Kate Henderson Yoga will be there a day earlier. If you ever wanted to learn a sequence that is therapeutic and empowering, or return to your practice with friendly instruction, now is your chance. During this pandemic, Ashtanga yoga has kept me healthy, happy, fit, healthy and balanced. It is a superpower!

I will teach Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.15am. £5 per class. But there are many other classes to suit your needs. Come and join this friendly group of practitioners. https://rosinabonsu.co.uk/timetable/

You don't have to practice alone, even in lockdown. She studio is inside you and you all have a teacher within. Listen to them. Listen to Mysore Yoga Paris and Yotam soundscapes and let them envelop you as you do your yoga. It is so lovely to feel connected.

Our Story

I have been practicing Ashtanga yoga since 2013 and I am a teacher of this form. My teachers are Rosina Bonsu, Kia Naddermier, Radha Warrell and Pierre Seghir, and Rose Ann McKean. I have also practiced under John Scott, Lino Miele, Taylor Hunt and Sarah Hatcher, among others. Ashtanga shows me discipline, compassion, patience, and letting go.
