This is the branch of Yoga Philosophy that deals with the physical body, its health, its well-being, its strength and its care. In asana practice we focus the mind completely in the body so we move as a unified whole, noticing not only the breath in the body but also becoming aware of what the body has to tell us. In addition to asana, we practise different breathing techniques, meditation, restor
ative relaxations and Yoga Nidra. Wednesday classes 12-1 pm at The Wee Retreat: These 1 hour classes are designed for women and tailored to the needs of the women attending. We will work with the energies of the moon each week and consider the season we are practising in. The complexity of the asanas is developed over a typical block of 6/7 weeks, allowing students to work within their own range of abilities and needs throughout. Wednesdays at The Moon Rooms 7.45 - 9pm: These 1hr 15 min sessions are planned in blocks of 6/7 weeks and we work with the energies of the seasons alongside the phase of the moon each week. The complexity of the asanas is developed over the block allowing students to work within their own range of abilities and needs throughout. This class is suitable for all levels. Everyone is welcome. Monthly Friday classes for Menopause 7 - 9 pm at The Moon Rooms: These 2-hour sessions focus on yoga for peri/post-menopause. We aim to use asana, meditation, breathing, relaxation and yoga nidra to find balance in the body, breath and mind and restore vital energy. Whether you have symptoms such as fatigue, insomnia, hot flushes, aching joints, brain fog or any other symptoms, our practice aims to alleviate these symptoms and leave you feeling balanced and relaxed with your energy restored. Classes are tailored to the needs of the women attending. Suitable for all levels. All classes must be booked in advance. Block bookings receive a discount. An Introduction
My name is Jane and I have been practising yoga since I lived in Japan in 1998, where I attended my first Kundalini yoga class. I then took on a personal practice, working with Sivananda yoga at home and attended classes of Hatha yoga and Ashtanga yoga every week for several years. In 2010 I felt a need to deepen my practice and knowledge of yoga and joined Yoga Scotland. I completed their Foundation Course in 2012, Living Yoga course in 2013 and then studied for 2 years to become a Hatha Yoga Teacher in 2015. Since then, I have run my own classes teaching adults both Hatha and Sivananda style yoga. I have run general children's yoga classes and taught children with Specific Learning Differences. In addition, I teach 1 to 1 yoga sessions and am currently training to be a Yoga Therapist with Scottish School of Yoga Therapy and a Reiki practitioner through Lendrick Lodge. I have 4 children and am currently lecturing ESOL part-time as well as teaching yoga. Nice to meet you !
