Freedom One Life Founded by a power wheelchair user, we create next-generation mobility products to allow wheelchair users to live the life they choose.

The founder, Alex Papanikolaou, created Freedom One Life due to the limitations of the stagnant powerchair market which he experienced first-hand. Our vision is to deliver radical change to the market, offering a revolutionary power wheelchair to improve independence and stretch the boundaries of powerchair users. We have done this in 4 key ways:

Performance - we have created the biggest wheelcha

ir battery in the world, delivering a world-beating 40-kilometre range in real-world conditions on a single charge. Our high-efficiency motors deliver triple the power of comparable chairs on the market, and we also have a compact design, ideal for precise manoeuvrability. Reliability and Safety - Our battery has five years of charge cycles, we use premium grade materials to improve strength and stability, and cables and components are completely enclosed, protecting them from damage. Comfort and Convenience - Adjustable ergonomic seating and tilt and lift functions for flexible positioning. We are the only chair in the world to have an onboard, integrated charger. We also use low-pressure, extra-wide rear tyres for a smoother ride. Transportability - 30% lighter than comparable powerchairs on the market, crash-tested, and with accessible lift points for transit.

Did you know that during Race Across Europe, Oli won the prize for ‘Most forms of public transport taken during the race’ at a whopping 10 different forms - including boats, trams, cable cars and planes to name a few!

We were thoroughly impressed with his efforts as I’m sure many of our wheelchair using followers know the struggle of arguing with transport operators to even let them on in the first place.

The Series 5 was designed with public transport in mind, to open up real freedom, travel, and independence. But great equipment alone isn't enough. Too many transport operators are still letting passengers down, whether through poor staff training, inadequate facilities, or outdated attitudes towards mobility aids and powerchairs.
So keep making noise. Challenge it when you experience it. Share it when you see it. Together we can fight to make it better!

We didn’t need to go far from FOL HQ to experience some very beat up pavements in need of some serious TLC. Unfortunately, I don’t see the state of pavements all over the country changing any time soon, so we must adapt to our environment.

We keep hearing the same thing from wheelchair users across the UK and beyond: the pavements meant to connect them to everyday life are doing the opposite. Work, shops, education or even leaving their home at all are all out of reach for too many. The equipment in use is not suitable for the outside world of today, with it’s almost off-road conditions, leaving many wheelchair users isolated and scared to go out.

Alex, our founder, knows that feeling first-hand. It's exactly why he created the Series 5 - a chair built for the world as it actually is, not as it should be. Don't just take our word for it. Get out and try it for yourself!

As always, we listen to our customers, so here you are, your very own Series 5 driving licence!

Included with your license:

- Unlimited speed authorisation
- No points limit
- Permission to speed past random people who say 'slow down' as fast as possible
- Permission to run over toes when people pretend they're having their toes run over
- Authority to issue a £1000 charge when asked for a lift
- Full, unrestricted freedom to shove this licence in annoying people's faces

This powerful moment of Katharina going on the beach for the first time in 20 years is something that has really stuck with me. Being such a happy, energetic soul, seeing the joy that it brought her was really something special.

We put together a testimonial from Katharina’s time on the race, which you can watch on our YouTube channel now! If you’ve seen Race Across Europe before, there are lots of unseen bits and it’s a great summary of her experience, and what it’s really like using a Series 5 for the first time in a foreign country.

Katharina is now waiting on approval from the German insurance market to get her own Series 5, and although there isn’t much we can do from here in the UK to influence the decision, we’ve all got our fingers and toes crossed in hopes she will get a Series 5 soon to be able to live a full life that suits the lifestyle she craves!
