We spoke with Mr Jaimin Bhatt, Consultant Urological Surgeon at Ross Hall Hospital, about having a flexible cystoscopy.

A flexible cystoscopy is a medical procedure used to examine the inside of your bladder and urethra. It is usually performed to investigate symptoms like blood in your urine, recurrent urinary tract infections, and unexplained bladder issues.

The iStent Infinite® is offered by Mr Mamun Rahman, Consultant Ophthalmologist at Ross Hall Hospital. Mr Rahman is the first consultant in Scotland to offer the iStent Infinite® to patients for moderate to severe glaucoma.

This year for Infection Prevention and Control week Lorna, Associate Director of Clinical Services, asked the Ross Hall team to create their very own Infection Control Superheroes who will protect you from those invisible IPC threats!

The winners of this year’s competition are:

Endoberry Bug Buster (The Endoscopy team)
• Her micro vision goggles see pathogens and bacteria at microscopic levels
• Her spray gun distributes sanitizer to fight germs
• Her gloves are magic, they are self cleaning which means she never passes on any bugs to anyone else
• Her cape scoops up and dries any spills

And …

Our very own Taylor Swift of Ross Hall! She’s a superstar singer who loves singing about infection control policies! She’s made of 95% tools that we use in the Clinic to help reduce infections.

The BlazePods are a reaction light therapy training system which coordinates both mental and physical training to help with mobility, agility and recovery from sports injuries.

The BlazePods provides an engaging and challenging environment to transform standard rehabilitation into an exciting activity.
