Star Anise Essential Oil

​​Star Anise Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the crushed seeds of the star anise plant, also known as Chinese Star Anise. This essential oil has a clear light to pale yellow colour with a characteristic potent aroma.

Star Anise essential oil has a fresh, sweet, and spicy, liquorice-like aroma. It is used for its carminative, digestive, stimulant ,expectorant and diuretic properties.
It helps bloating and is known to settle the stomach.
As it is an expectorant it can be used for the treatments of coughs and chest conditions.
This essential oil may be toxic to insects therefore its smell helps keep insects at bay.
It is used as fragrance in cosmetics and soaps and is used to flavour some foods and liquor.

Lavender essential oil is one of the most useful essential oils as it has antioxidant, antimicrobial, sedative, calming and antidepressant properties.
It has been shown to improve mood and reduce stress and has been used for these properties for centuries.
It can help improve sleep quality and can be used topically to help cool and relieve the pain of small burns.It is often included in shampoos as it is said to increase hair growth.
Lavender however can cause asthma attacks and migraine headaches so be careful with its usage.

Tea Tree Oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves and branches of the Tea Tree bush. Once condensed,the clear to pale yellow oil is separated from the aqueous distillate.

Tea tree essential oil has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties, therefore working well with skin conditions. Tea tree oil is also used in mouthwash and deodorant as the antibacterial properties fight the bacteria that live in the mouth and underarm area, it is used in many cleaning products, shampoos and body washes.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus essential oil is produced by the chopping of the leaves and stems of the eucalyptus plant.This is then placed in a distillation machine which pushes steam or water through the plant material.The oil and other components rise and are funnelled into a condenser, which cools the vapour to liquid, the oil floats on top and is syphoned off.
Eucalyptus essential oil is an expectorant and is therefore very useful to help break up chesty coughs. It is also a natural anti-inflammatory and antiseptic and helps reduce redness, swelling and promotes wound healing. Eucalyptus essential oil mixes well with Cedarwood, Lavender, Lemon and Rosemary.
