Retreats are closer than you think...

When travelling down the road of life, you get to meet different people and ways of life along the way. We've been lucky enough to find interesting ways of life, amazing therapies and gifted practitioners along our way. With the busy, often complicated lives that we lead we know it's not always possible to have a wee break from the norm. We know how meditating for half an hour, going to an hours holistic therapeutic session or spending your weekend on a yoga retreat can put you back up on top of the world. And so, The Wee Retreat aims to bring the therapies, ways of life and practitioners we have found along the way to you... so you experience the serenity and calm from your own wee retreat.

If successful, we hope to build on the support we offer to improve:

🔒 a sense of security, trust and being included

🏃 mobility and physical activity

If you can spare 5 minutes of your time, please complete our wee survey before 2nd October 🙏

🌍✨ World Peace Day ✨🌍

Peace in the world starts with peace within.

When global events feel heavy or uncertain, it’s natural to feel anxious, overwhelmed, or powerless. But looking after your own wellbeing isn’t selfish — it’s what gives you the strength to take action, support others, and keep hope alive. 🌱

Here are a few gentle reminders:
🕊️ Protect your energy – take breaks from the news and create moments of calm.
🕊️ Nourish your body & mind – rest, move, and eat in ways that help you feel grounded.
🕊️ Connect with others – small acts of kindness and compassion ripple outward.
🕊️ Use your voice & values – even small contributions matter when it comes to creating peace.

Remember: peace isn’t only the absence of conflict, it’s also the presence of care, connection, and compassion. By tending to yourself, you help build the foundation for a more peaceful world. 🌱✨

On Sunday, 21 September we’ll gather for our final Carers Retreat in this current 12-month series — a project made possible through the generous funding of Shared Care Scotland. 🌷

We are so grateful for the opportunity this funding has given us to host retreats dedicated to supporting carers’ wellbeing. It’s been a joy to share food, connection, and space for rest together 🤎

We’ve applied for further funding, so while this may be the last retreat in the current series, we very much hope it won’t be the last one of the year.

If you’d like to be added to our waiting list for this September retreat or future retreats, please email support@theweeretreat.co.uk 💌

A huge thank you to Shared Care Scotland, our amazing participants, and wonderful facilitators & volunteers — we’ll be back soon!

A big thank you to Emma from SAMH – Scottish Action for Mental Health for facilitating our Let’s Talk Mental Health Talk Series 🧠

These free, community-focused sessions remind us that talking about mental health should never be taboo. If you’re struggling, please know you’re not alone – support is available through samh.org.uk/find-help. Simple steps like reaching out, keeping active, connecting with others, and taking time to rest can all make a difference.

We’d love to welcome you to our free community events too – safe, supportive spaces to pause, breathe, and calm the mind:

☕ Wee Cuppas on Tuesdays 11–12 | Free cuppa, cake & short meditation
💭 Lunchtime Meditation on Thursdays 12:15–12:45 | Online & in person

Everyone is welcome 🤍

Meet Tally! 🍃

We’re so happy to welcome Tally (she/her) into our wee team at The Wee Retreat! She’s been teaching here for years – mostly at her Q***r Yoga class and Seasonal Celebration Circles – and now joins us behind the scenes to support with marketing and admin. 🪄

Tally loves a cup of tea and a chat before & after class, weaving connection and community into her practice. She also enjoys making energy balls – pistachio has been a recent favourite! 🥣

Lately, she’s been reading Summerwater by Sarah Moss, a beautifully written story set on Loch Lomond about separateness and connection. And her favourite yoga pose? Apanasana – lying back, hugging knees and rocking side to side: ‘it feels so good on my back!’ 🐞

Drop a warm hello in the comments to welcome Tally 💌
