💡Did you know small changes to your morning routine can help you cut your energy bills?
Here are a few ideas you can try — pick the ones that work for you:

🚿 Getting ready for the day

- Keep showers to around 4 minutes — using a timer or a favourite song can help. (Could save around £45 a year.)
- If you can, keep your bathroom ventilated by closing the door and turning on the extractor fan or opening a window. This helps reduce damp and mould, especially in winter.
- Lowering the water temperature — cooler showers use less energy. (Around £40 a year saved.)
- Don’t keep the tap running while shaving.

Every home is different — do what’s manageable for you. For more easy tips to lower your bills, visit:

☕ The third monday of every January is Brew Monday, a day where Samaritans encourage everyone to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up with the people they care about.

🧠 The idea that there is a "Blue Monday" is a myth - we all go through ups and downs through our life, and learning how to cope with the challenges of life through shared support can make a huge difference.

💡 Did you know you can save money by making small changes to how you wash and dry your clothes?
Here are some simple ways to reduce your energy use at home:

✅ Where possible use your washing machine’s ‘eco’ cycle. These programmes take longer but use less energy and water. They’re often called ‘Eco 40-60’ or ‘Eco Cotton’.
✅ Dry clothes outdoors when you can. It doesn’t need to be sunny — breezy, dry days (even if overcast) can be great for drying.
✅ Use a heated clothes airer instead of a tumble dryer. They’re cheaper to run and dry clothes faster than a standard airer. Remember to ventilate the room (open a window or trickle vents) and consider using a dehumidifier to reduce moisture.
✅ If you’re on a smart tariff, run appliances at lower-price times but only when you’re at home and awake due to fire safety.
