Full house at Monday class this week!!! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜˜. All of these amazing ladies making a positive change in their lives, its not easy to find the motivation to attend class after a full day at work, but they do it week after week. They all know the benefits of strength and conditioning, that's why they signed up in the first place. Canโ€™t believe itโ€™s been 8 months since the last church class ๐Ÿ˜ข. This group of amazing women are still working out twice a week in their living rooms!!!. It would have been so easy to lose all motivation and just give up, but week after week they join Zoom and give 100% in the workouts ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‹๏ธ.
I am chuffed to bits and super proud of you all, and want to thank you for supporting my small business ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ช

Just wanted to share my progress, 1 year ago I looked at these pictures and for me I was unhappy and was sick of feeling a bit rubbish. Although I was still exercising, I was making too many bad food choices I knew I wasnโ€™t really giving 100% every time with exercising.

3 stone has now gone and I just wanted to say a massive thanks to Lynn for motivating and pushing me! This is the fittest I Iโ€™ve ever been and itโ€™s down to the hiit classes in the church in the good old days and they have also been a god send in lockdown on zoom. Starting PT sessions last summer also gave me a fantastic kick start and I have loved going back to them this summer now that we are allowed. Canโ€™t wait till we can get back to face to face classes to see you all! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am very proud of you all, thought some of you would have cancelled, but NO the good weather was not going to stop you all from getting your workout done. Consistency is so important where training is concerned, and you lot are consistent!!!!!

๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช BENEFITS OF PROTEIN ๐Ÿ’ช

Get your protein on board ladies!!!!!

What protein WILL DO is:

Help you look lean and toned like you want.
Help you feel energized to power through your workouts.
Help you LOSE WEIGHT WITHOUT FEELING HUNGRY.
Did I say look strong, sexy and LEAN!?!
Protein is the KEYโ€ฆLiterally the KEY to getting the results you want.

So a bit more about WHY protein is so key for us LADIES and WHY it wonโ€™t make you bulkyโ€ฆ.

1. Itโ€™s the building blocks of muscle. Not only will you preserve your lean muscle mass while potentially dieting in a calorie deficit BUT you can also build lean muscle to help you look more toned! AND as we get older, especially us ladies, it can be harder and harder to retain and even GAIN muscle. A diet high in protein helps! Plus, when we are injured, we often think we need less protein, BUT a diet higher in protein can help us prevent muscle loss while we are out and restricted from training.
2. Keeps you feeling fuller for longer. Protein keeps you satisfied so that you donโ€™t end up feeling like you are starving even if youโ€™re trying to lose weight.
3. It makes weight loss EASIER! The thermogenic effect of protein makes it EASIER to lose weight and drop body fat on a protein rich diet EVEN if you โ€œovereat.โ€ A study 2014 study showed that even on a hypercaloric diet, people didnโ€™t gain weight due to the high protein. Plus, because it preserves lean muscle mass, you will tend to burn more calories even at rest and your metabolism will stay healthy.
Improves recovery and muscle repair. You will provide your muscles with the building blocks they need to repair. AND the increase in protein can also help your tendons and connective tissues repair. Greater protein synthesis accelerates tissue repair and strengthens connective tissues to reduce your risk for injury.
3. Can improve bone density and prevent osteoporosis. It is actually a common misconception that high protein is bad for your bones and this โ€œmythโ€ is based on a misunderstanding of bone metabolism. Actually the amino acids in protein are used to build bone AND because protein increases muscles mass, there is an increase in bone strength!
And studies of protein rich diets have even shown to improve brain functioning, quality of sleep AND even lower blood pressure!
And speaking to those ladies going through menopause and post-menopause struggling to keep the weight offโ€ฆPROTEIN IS KEY TO RETAIN THAT LEAN MUSCLE MASS and keep our skin, hair and nails healthy and strong! It is the building blocks!
During and post-menopause, protein can help keep our hormones in check and help us avoid that dreaded weight gain! It can help improve our body composition as well as our overall body functioning.
In menopause your hormone levels change and even specific hormones decrease, so if you donโ€™t get enough protein, youโ€™re going to have a harder time maintaining hormonal balance, which is what can affect muscle retention and cause weight gain. It can also affect our digestive system, thyroid and bone health!
So really ladies I should be asking, โ€œWhy WOULDNโ€™T you eat more protein!?!โ€
If youโ€™ve been struggling to get the results you want, track your food and youโ€™ll notice that you probably are low on protein!
Protein doesnโ€™t lead to bulk. It leads to that strong, lean muscle that helps us move better, feel better and even LOOK BETTER!
