Special times, had a brilliant time last night at our gym girls Christmas get together ❀️❀️

It was first time doing a cold dip & she smashed it! We focussed on the breathing techniques & slowed everything down & on a controlled long breath out under she went- no problemo πŸ‘πŸΌ β€οΈπŸ‘ŠπŸ»

My 3rd Hyrox but my first Solo & Hyrox Manchester you were special ❀️ 🐝 Amazing venue & so much love & encouragement from the crowd - the atmosphere was something else! ⚑️

We lived in Manchester for 16 years before moving to Glasgow 3 years ago. My boys were born there, we have friends who are like family there- it’s my second home, so I knew this would be an emotional one.

It was made even more special with coming down to compete last minute too. Having the love & support from these guys cheering me on & helping push me through made it for me πŸ₯ΉπŸ™πŸ»β€οΈ forever grateful πŸ¦… 🐝 πŸ’ͺ🏻

1hr 26 - I made the decision just before I started not to check my watch & just to push myself - I actually thought I was running faster than I was & those wall balls took me 2mins longer than I’d planned & were nearly the death of me!πŸ€ͺ… but still very happy with my time. Big thanks to .de.souza for the training plan getting me race ready. Lots to work on - I’ll keep going with the compromised running & have a new goal of 100 6kg wall balls!

Beautiful day with these guys but really felt this one - 2pm start and the heat was not my friend πŸ₯΅ I knew the distance would be a challenge but much tougher than I thought & mind games most of the way round & said definitely not signing up for next years - longer distance running is not my thing. Over the finish line and signing up for next year πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»πŸ˜‚

- 400m Skierg
- 40m Sandbag walking lunges 20kg
- 40 Goblet squat 15kg
- 40m KB Farmers carry 20kg
- 40 V sit-up
- 1 minute plank

Then repeat decreasing to
- 300/30
- 200/20
- 100/10
- Keep 1 minute plank

Brilliant afternoon doing a Hyrox Simulation and then an amazing recovery massage from

It was my first Hyrox singles and what a buzz ❀️ but it was hard πŸ₯΅ - the burpee broad jumps closely followed by the wall balls 😩😩were the worst πŸ˜‚

The 1k run was a 500m out and back. It was a gradual downhill for the first half but that uphill felt much steeper πŸ₯΅ πŸ˜‚ but I was pleased with my times - although probably started off a bit too keen - got my fastest 1k.

I’ve got a benchmark now and know what I need to work on πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ™πŸ»
