This amused me hugely. It's almost a before and after of treatment time.. the number of times I've had to help people get dressed because they are so relaxed it's like they've forgotten. .. thankfully it's only temporary!

Its been quite a while since I said hello! And there are lots of new folks who might not know me….

🌈 Who Am I?

I’m Paula— an accredited, degree qualified Acupuncturist, Chinese herbaledivine practitioner (almost!), clinical hypnotherapist. A dog mum, a member of the LGBTQ+ community,

I use all that knowledge to help guide my patients to elevate their health - to find little tweaks here and there that will empower them to heal, to get free from what ails them.

☺️Who I Serve

I support anyone navigating chronic pain, from arthritic knees, to nerve impingement and migrains. As well as those suffering from with depression, anxiety or insomnia. Having been in practice now for 18+ years I tend to treat folks that the NHS can no longer offer any solutions - I'm the last chance saloon for many.

☯️ Why I do this work

Because I love it! Cheesy as it sounds, I've always wanted to “help people feel better”...

I have a degree in psychology too - but I wanted more, and found acupuncture. I was offered it while living in South Korea, back in 2003, for a partial thickness burn . And honestly was hooked. I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread.

I returned to the UK - because my Korean wasn't good enough. And gained my BSc in acupuncture back in 2007, and have worked ever since, seeing what feels like miracles for some with extreme, life affecting pain, for others and escape from the world and a chance to relax, unwind and reset, I've helped many become parents, I've helped prevent surgeries, and other invasive medical procedures. I've helped support people clawing their way out of the darkest of depressions, walked with others as they dealt with the aftermath of horrific traumas.

It is a vocation for me, something I truly and deeply love, and each year my understanding and passion for what this medicine can do deepens. I'm so excited to be able to add another modality, and will never stop learning so that I can help YOU.

Self care today.

And scared, but showing off my big belly. I know myself how hard it is to expose yourself when you don't fit societal norms, and are criticised for existing in a bigger body.

As a therapist I honestly don't care if you've shaved your legs, are wearing matching un**es, have done your fake tan, or have stretch marks etc etc etc (I could continue inserting others insecurities for a while I think).

I have done what I can do make sure my space feels safe and comfortable for all sizes and shapes of bodies, beds and chairs are strong, wide, extra arm space... (You'll also have towels covering you!)

A newly published Cochrane review of reviews has examined non-drug and non-surgical treatments for low back pain. The results? Acupuncture effectively reduces pain and improves function for those with chronic low back pain! 🎯

🔸 Acupuncture is already integrated into mainstream healthcare in several countries:
✅ Statutory regulated in Australia, New Zealand, and Portugal
✅ Covered by healthcare insurance in Germany and New Zealand
✅ Recommended in clinical guidelines when seeking out a PSA registered practitioner (BAcC)

However the study highlights that many clinical trials underestimate the real benefits of acupuncture because they don’t reflect the personalised treatments given by traditional acupuncturists.
