'If you've ever seen the scene in The Vicar Of Dibley, where Dawn French jumps into a puddle, you'll know what I mean. She is gleefully jumping and splashing in puddles, loved up with a new man and giddy with this relationship that she jumps into a puddle and it's not what she expects. It might seem the same as the one before but it isn't. The scene was so loved by viewers that Dawn was asked to recreate that scene for a popular chat show. A set was built for its recreation and what she didn't know was that she was jumping from a 10 foot height onto a shallow crash mats placed on top of a concrete floor. That re-enactment left her in pain and needing to walk with a cane, a decision that caused her severe pain and regret for many years. (There's another lesson in there about the dangers of trying to emulate something authentic, genuine, heartwarming and funny in a contrived situation that isn't any of those, but that's another thing.)

'You see, the only way to really know depths of the hidden - what is beyond that surface reflection - is to throw a little something small into it and listen for the sound it calls back. No matter how much you mentally think you know its depth, what lies within or what you're stepping into, throw a little energetic pebble in there. A little of your truth, your love, your heart, your own self, just a little. Don't throw everything in there, just a taster, and WAIT. Wait to see how it responds. Does it respond in kind?
We intuitively know what this sound tells us. We instinctively know how deep the water by the sound a stone makes when we throw it in. We do not use scientific instruments to measure, we use our inner knowing. But we will only gauge this if we're really listening.
What does it reveal? What are the hidden depths beyond the surface of this possibility? Does it reflect back to you the sounds of your heart and the ripples of your soul?'

A wee excerpt from Flourish's last ever newsletter. If you're thinking 'WHAT?! Oh no! Where can I get Andrea's incredible insight and wisdom, a much welcome oasis of truth telling in a sea of b00llsh*t?' Fear not, dear one, because I have the solution, and you'll find it here https://shoutout.wix.com/so/11OqnYbSG?languageTag=en

'This is a time of possibilities, presenting themselves to us right now, and perhaps you are not sure which way to go. You may have used your rational thought and weighed up the options, looking at the positives and negatives, and yet neither seems to be any better a choice than the other.

When you see possibilities that appear to reflect a part of yourself back to you, it can be captivating and seductive. Just like bodies of water, spiritually representative of the mysterious realm of the emotions, if we are not careful we only see this one aspect, this one reflection of ourselves, and can get lost in it believing this to be the only truth. From the sea and lochs to rivers and puddles, that environment is unknown to us - the life within, what it holds - and while a carefree part of us may want to jump right in and splash around, we don't quite know how deep it is under the surface.'

The Flourish newsletter has arrived at inboxes and following on from my last post, here's another wee taster of my psychic reading of the week in the run up to Imbolc. Missed the first bit on the last post? Not to worry, the full reading is in the newsletter (link below).
There's also some very interesting news and I don't want you kicking yourself that you missed it...

'Firstly, there are hard things that you need to do. I know, they are not easy and you've been putting them off but now is the time to deal with them. Avoidance, procrastination and distraction are not your friends right now. If those things of importance are not dealt with now, they will be harder to deal with down the line. They will actively hinder new possibilities. Those hard things might be certain situations to address or fears to confront, reviewing health and self care approaches, family matters, material considerations, reviewing what you believe about yourself or others, or new ways of thinking (and doing) that you are perhaps resisting.

Once these are addressed - and even the act of accepting that they need addressed is important - then you are better placed to connect with your intuition, and your next steps. This doesn't necessarily make decision-making easier - and I would suggest considering putting off big decisions until after Imbolc if at all possible, although each person and situation is different - but connecting with your intuition increases the chance of pursuing those possibilities that are the right ones for you.'

Hello dear Flourishers!
The final Flourish newsletter is currently winging its way to inboxes. Yes, you read that right. It's the very last one. But it's cracker, with a psychic reading of this, the week running up to Imbolc. The link to the full newsletter is below.

There is also some exciting news in there that I GUARANTEE you are going to want to know. If you're not convinced, here's a wee taster.

'As we approach Imbolc (calendar date of the 1st February), there are some big changes - for you, me, the collective and the Earth - and in this, the final newsletter from Flourish (more on this below), I'd like to share some psychic insights on where we currently find ourselves.

Having survived storms and (hail) stones, snow and shivering, thoughts of Spring are so cheering. But hold on there. We're close, but we're also further away than we may like and, at this point, this is actually a good thing because there are THINGS TO BE DONE.

We find ourselves at the precipice, a place between Winter and Spring; the handover from Crone to Maiden is not quite complete - the painting above by Lisa Aisato is such a beautiful reflection of the days before Imbolc. We are experiencing the place where one Goddess transforms into another of Her aspects, where the Earth is still cold but there are stirrings of life below. An in-between place and an incredibly powerful, if sometimes unsettling, time too.
This year, I feel just about anything can happen...

What once seemed impossible may suddenly appear entirely possible. And what once seemed possible (a 'walk in the park' or a 'sure thing' even), may now appear to be impossible. Confused? Bewildered? Unsure? Excellent, you're exactly where you need to be so let's dive into my reading and tips on how you can approach this time with grace, balance and intent.'

ALTAR OF LIGHT

'We take time and care in putting up our Christmas trees. We adorn them with trinkets and things we find beautiful. We fill them with light and place gifts underneath them.

Your Christmas tree is a Winter altar.

And as such, I want to encourage you to be mindful of what you place on it, around it and underneath it as this reflects what you feel is of value; essentially what you worship. The intention behind what you adorn it with, the energy you want it to reflect, matters.
I was in a shop the other day and came across chocolate poker chips to hang on a tree, and this reminded me to consider the sacredness of how we adorn our tree altars. When hanging anything on your tree, you are placing the energy of association. For example, you may associate poker chips with the excitement of a night in the casino that you remember fondly, or the association may be monetary loss, gambling addiction or a casual approach to the energy of money. Different things have different associations for different people and it is the energy - the feelings - you associate with those things and the intention behind them that matter.
Your Christmas tree is the light that shines in the darkness.
Adorn your altar with those things that make your heart sing, that you wish to draw more of into your life.'

THE UNDERWORLD

'I've planted a good few trees over the years and people are always surprised to learn that the Winter is one of the best times to plant trees. This may seem a little odd as the time of growth is the Spring, but a tree needs time to adjust and adapt. It needs time to get to know its new surroundings and, more importantly, its new environment below ground.

You see, this hidden world contains the gold that fuels growth. It provides nutrients, water and air, all essential for developing strong roots. This world of darkness is full of the essence of life, crucial for growth and - yes, you guessed it - ascension. Without pulling from the wealth of gifts offered by this dark and hidden world, without familiarising and adapting to what we find there, we cannot grow, we cannot ascend.

Descension and ascension are a cycle, we return to each again and again. There is not only one direction. To focus solely on ascension, the desire to release ourselves from our earthly experiences, denies us the gifts of descension; the blessing and beauty of being human.'

VULNERABILITY IS STRENGTH

'When I first planted my Rowan tree, a 6ft sapling with a thin trunk when it arrived, I planted it in a reasonably sheltered position and I initially supported it with stakes and an assortment of ties. For the 2 years it was in that position, it didn't die but it didn't grow either; it was in a state of inertia. When I moved it, I placed it in a more exposed site and did not support it. It is blown by the high winds, drenched by the rain and chilled by the snow. It began to produce flowers and berries, started to grow new shoots and is now bigger and stronger than ever.

As always, the natural world is our loving teacher and guide.
The deciduous trees have lost their leaves, stripped to their bones, showing us how to withhold the storms while at our most vulnerable. You see, we can only gain lasting strength - the kind of strength that's borne of conditions that change us - when we are truly vulnerable, exposed to the often harsh conditions of the earthly realm. We do not need to seek out storms or deliberately put ourselves in positions of vulnerability (life will throw these at you naturally so don't make your life any harder!) but what we CAN do is sit with the conditions and get to know our new climate.'
