Today, our resident Fiona took a trip down memory lane! 🕰️🍽️

Fiona used to work as a dinner lady, so she jumped at the chance to help serve staff lunches today — and she did a FABULOUS job! 👩‍🍳👏

In the morning, our support worker Vicky pampered our residents by doing their nails 💅. It’s the little touches like this that make our residents feel truly special.

In the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome back Eddie Binnie 🎶. Eddie is a regular favourite here at Westacres, and both residents and staff love having him fill the home with his wonderful songs. 🎤🎵

Recent feedback from visitors complement the efforts and hard work from this team 🧑‍🤝‍🧑Furthermore, regular audits 📋 📉📊 carried out around the home finds the home, clean, odour free, welcoming and rooms person centred 🌸🌼🌸🌼

Apart from housekeeping and laundry schedules, this team go beyond expectations to ensure our residents environment is safe and hygienic 🧹🪣🧽🪠🫧 🌸👌
More importantly this team are friendly and professional. They make time for residents and make it their business to be aware of Residents’ likes and dislikes. Bedrooms are deep cleaned regularly and made up specifically to the residents’ wishes 🛌💐
The in-house daily laundry and ironing service 🧺 👕👚👔👖keeps this team on their toes 🏃🏻‍♂️‍➡️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️‍➡️

Our Housekeeping Team work closely with all other departments during our daily morning meetings, where they share any concerns and also provide vital information for Nursing Staff and Management 🧑‍💼🧑‍⚕️👨‍💼👩🏽‍🔬👩🏻‍🍳🗒️

Tomorrow marks the start of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.
This special occasion is observed with beautiful traditions, including:

✨ Sounding the Shofar – serving as a spiritual alarm clock to inspire reflection and repentance.
✨ Prayer – join us for our Shul service tomorrow at 9:45am
✨ Symbolic foods – round challah bread to represent the cyclical nature of life and apples dipped in honey for a sweet year ahead.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Calderwood Lodge School for inviting us to attend their assembly today and making us such lovely cards. 💌

Today some of our residents enjoyed a refreshing walk around Rouken Glen, accompanied by our wonderful Activities Assistants, Fiona and Sharon.

They always leave her salon looking a million dollars – and feeling just as fabulous. 💖

🌸🍰 Another busy day here at Westacres!

This afternoon, our wonderful support worker Lorna hosted a flower arranging class. We love filling our home with fresh flowers, and our residents had such a lovely time creating their own floral displays. 🌼✨

Later in the day, our talented activities assistant Sharon led a baking class. Our residents did brilliantly, and the delicious cakes they made were the perfect treat to enjoy with our afternoon tea trolley. ☕️🧁
