The residents received a lovely gift from Debbie the Nurse today, her mother Violet Briggs crocheted beautiful blankets/throws to keep us cosy. This morning we enjoyed some arts and crafts 🎨followed by an afternoon of entertainment by the Ukalazies🎶🎤

This morning we were getting our nails done 💅 Feeling pampered and fresh.

Then in the afternoon we got to experience and try out the tech of today’s generation… Mixed Reality! With the VR Headset - Pet Therapy program, that was designed by a Japanese doctor apparently! 🐶🐱🐕

Some of us were in awe of how unbelievable technology has gotten. Took a while to understand the controls. However some picked it up quickly!
Nevertheless we all had big smiles. 😮😁🐶🐱
Lots of laughter filled the home.

There were also a few competitive games of dominoes on the go 🎲🎯

Another fabulous day out for Residents @ Westacres. A visit to Pollok Park 🏛️ Burrell Collection and to finish it off with a bite of lunch 🥪☕️👏

Joyce loved reading the plaques 📜 and watching dogs running around outside 🐕🐕‍🦺🐶

All residents enjoyed watching children run around with laughter 😆 and exchanged some friendly “Hellos” 👋👋

Whilst ladies enjoyed a natter during lunch, Micky was engaging in meaningful conversation with Fiona 💬

All arranged and supported by our lovely Activities Assistants Fiona and Sinead 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 🚌👩‍✈️

This morning our residents appreciated reminiscence with our lovely volunteer Gillian 🎤

Then this afternoon Jennifer took a knitting group, it was particularly fascinating watching a demonstration of a spinning wheel producing yarn from sheep wool 🧶
