💚 Jade’s 5-Month Fundraising Challenge 💚
Hi everyone, as some of you may be aware,
Jade, our Quality Improvement and Development Manager, is taking on a five-month fundraising challenge from 1st January to 31st May to raise funds for a Hi-Lo Care Home Interactive Touch Table for Applecross Nursing Home.
The aim of this fundraiser is to enhance daily life for residents by making digital activities more accessible, inclusive, and meaningful.
🧩 Why the Touch Table Matters
The Hi-Lo touch table’s height-adjustable design makes it accessible for wheelchair users and residents with limited mobility, allowing everyone to take part comfortably. It can be used for both group activities and one-to-one sessions, supporting:
• Cognitive stimulation and communication
• Social interaction and emotional wellbeing
• Reminiscence therapy, games, music, and visual activities
This will help reduce isolation, promote inclusion, and provide meaningful engagement for residents of all abilities.
💪 The 5-Month Challenge Plan
This challenge is ambitious and will push Jade well outside her comfort zone, but it is for a truly meaningful cause:
📅 January – 500,000 steps (approx. 16,130 steps per day)
📅 February – Bake Sale 🧁 (14th February 2026)
📅 March – Climb two mountains ⛰️
📅 April – Walk from Applecross Nursing Home to Edinburgh Castle 🚶♀️
📅 May – 1,000,000 steps (approx. 32,260 steps per day)
