💡 Surviving Gaslighting Is a Victory 💡

When someone constantly twisted your words, made you doubt your memory, your reality, your worth — and you still found the strength to question it?
That’s courage. That’s survival.

Gaslighting is emotional manipulation, not a misunderstanding.
If you had to rebuild your sense of self from the ground up,
If you learned to trust your voice again,
If you stopped apologizing for simply being you —
👏 You’re reclaiming your power.

You are not “too sensitive.”
You are not “crazy.”
You were being conditioned not to trust yourself — and you broke free.

Your healing is valid. Your truth matters. Your story is yours again.

💔 Separation anxiety can feel overwhelming — for kids and adults. 💔

Whether it’s a child struggling at school drop-off, a teen anxious about leaving home, or an adult finding it hard to be away from a loved one — separation anxiety is real, and it can deeply affect daily life.

🧠 Counselling offers a safe space to:
✔ Understand the roots of the anxiety
✔ Learn coping tools for moments of distress
✔ Build secure attachments and independence
✔ Strengthen emotional resilience — for both individuals and families

You or your child don’t have to navigate it alone. With gentle support, it does get easier. 💛

📘 Therapy can be the first step toward confidence, calm, and connection.

🌱 Struggling with ARFID? You’re not alone. 🌱

Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) goes beyond “picky eating” — it can deeply affect physical health, social life, and emotional wellbeing. Whether it’s due to sensory sensitivities, fear of choking, or lack of interest in food, ARFID is a real and valid eating disorder.

💬 The good news? Support is available.

Counseling can help by:
✅ Exploring the root causes of food aversions
✅ Reducing anxiety around eating
✅ Gradually expanding safe foods
✅ Rebuilding a positive relationship with food

With the right therapeutic support, healing is possible. You deserve to feel safe, nourished, and supported.

🤝 Reach out to a registered therapist who understands ARFID — because you don’t have to face it alone. 💛

Amanda Wu is an accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and is the founder of Kind Mind Therapy. She provides counselling services to children, adolescents and adults. In addition to an advanced psychotherapeutic counselling diploma, Amanda has an honours degree in psychology. She is also a trained and accredited hypnotherapist. She uses an integrative approach to counselling, therefore she integrates a number of different models and techniques to her work including person-centred, cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, gestalt and transactional analysis. In addition to this, Amanda is trained in mindfulness and she often includes this within her practice. Amanda works with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, eating disorders, relationship issues, addictions, behavioural issues (in children & teens) & many more. Amanda believes very much in a ‘one size does not fit all’ method and tailors her therapy to suit each individual. She is very gentle in her approach and aims to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for her clients. This year Amanda was awarded the ‘Outstanding Individual’ award within NHS Lanarkshire & has recently been nominated for an award from NHS Scotland. This award was in response to a new service that Amanda developed which targeted children & young people with self-esteem issues. She developed a group for children called ‘Boost’ and received excellent feedback from the children and their parents/carers. Amanda closely works alongside Jill Trevena from Practical Mindset & Amanda has recently begun assisting Jill with her work in schools. Amanda provides one to one counselling, runs group therapy and online therapy sessions. Amanda also supports Jill to provide training to school staff and parents/carers. Having recently become a Mum, Amanda is enjoying all the new adventures that come along with parenthood. She loves exercising, travelling and going for long walks. She is also a professional samba dancer and loves to express herself through dance. She believes firmly in the psychological benefits of dance and arts. She is also a trained Zumba fitness instructor and previously taught Zumba classes to children and adults. She believes exercise & dance are excellent for boosting mood & self-esteem. Amanda is a member of the National Counselling Society, the National Hypnotherapy Society & the British Psychological Society & she adheres to their codes of ethics.

She is also a registered counsellor with the Healthcode and is recognised by private medical insurers such as Aviva & Vitality Health.
